Hi Everyone! I'm a long time lurker and don't really post much, I don't have many friends so it's nice to read all the posts etc.

After a long time away from the sims 2, I've decided to come back into the sims 2 community and maybe start a legacy. The problem is I feel like a n00b again with the game with having to download all CC again and get used to the controls.

Any tips? Or hints? Or advice?

Sorry if this post isn't important or it bores you lol but I wanted to reach out to the community and belong to something if I can.

Thanks to all the creators btw for making these awesome downloads!

When I've restarted playing I always go to the top featured MTS2 items in the download sections first and browse everything and download what I want.

Then I get inteen (because I think its realistic)

ACR, the sim blender or insiminator is good too.

Edit: I don't really know what you were asking for lol

lol sorry about the confusion, I just thought it would be good to get some tips etc about the game. I haven't played it for a while so it's like someone who hasn't worked a computer before!

I have ACR and few other mods but I haven't insiminator, inteen or sim blender lol

Just a couple of things that can improve the game:

- Be sure to patch all of your EPs and SPs.
- Install empty or clean templates for all of your EPs.
- Install a good name mod.
- Install default face replacements.

Some other people's lists:

Ah sorry about that lol.

Well I think you'll be a bit rusty at the beginning but then get used to it pretty quick, sort of like riding a bicycle :D

Too general a question. I suspect a lot of stuff will come back to you once you get into it, and when you have a specific question, someone here will have an answer, no doubt.

Check out this thread for a ton of defaults that people use. http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=334952

Maybe start an empire city? Try something new? It's always good to try new things.

Thanks! I can find a good name mod and face replacements on here?It really depends upon your definition of "good". Everyone has their own ideas.

If you don't mind lots of accented names, Boiling Oil has a good name mod at this site:
http://www.leefish.nl

Personally, I don't want accented names, so I use this one:

I've seen sci-fi name mods, medieval name mods, ...

Face replacements are even more personal. Some people like faces which are all very similar, other people prefer more variety. There are a number of default face replacements at MTS and many of those download threads contain links to other sets. For example:

Thanks! I chose the second one, will these take effect when I start a new hood?

All generated sims will get their names from your name mod and their appearances from your default face replacements. Existing sims will not change.

In terms of neighborhoods, I'd start with just the legacy house in an empty neighborhood.

That's how mine worked and I added premades and CAS sims as I went. Now I have a giant neighborhood.

That's what I'm going to do, it seems easier lol
