Custom content not working!

Hi, everytime I extract custom content, the file icon is unusable and look like a blank piece of paper. I don't understand what I am doing wrong but I am using 7-Zip, help?

You appear to not have read our great guides to downloading and installing custom content for Sims 3.

That file is perfectly usable - you just have to put it in the right place. :)

Also, since you're not on a Mac, I'll move this thread out of the Mac forum.

I have already done the step by step thing twice and nothing works. Can someone please just point out to me what I'm doing wrong?

Well, from your picture, you have a .sim file in a Sims3Downloads folder on your Desktop. .sim files should be placed in your SavedSims folder under My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\

Okay I tried extracting it in the savedsims file and all the other saved sims that arnt custom content have a blank piece of paper on them and they work in my launcher and i can download them, but when a custom content sim from this website, it doesn't appear in my launcher so that i can download it. the icon is the same as every other saved sim files...
i dont understand.

monstar69 - .sim files placed in SavedSims won't show in the Launcher; only things installed as .sims3packs show in the launcher. Just load up your game and they should be choosable there.
