Cannot install Late Night. Bridgeport error

I tried installing the Late Night expansion, but I keep getting the same message:

File: Caches\Bridgeport.objectCache not found.

I tried rebooting my PC and reloading the game-disk but nothing seems to work.

Those were pretty much all the solutions I found online, I hope someone has an answer because I'd like to install the game..

Sounds like your disc is damaged or dirty. You can try cleaning the disc, and if that fails copy the install files to your hard drive.

The instructions there are specifically for Sims 2, but the principle is the same for Sims 3.
