View Full Version : Modifying glass in a counter

I have a problem with modifying the glass part in the modern Chiclettina counter (example in attachment). I know how to fiddle with the glass when it's a separate recolor file, but in this case the glass is a part of the whole counter finish, and I can't figure out how to change the material definitions to change the glass color. I can see it refers to the texture all the glass objects in the game seem to use, reflectionkitchenhighcontrast-envcube, but other than the envcube values, everything refers to the rest of the counter (see attachment).
Is there a way to replace the reflectionkitchenhighcontrast-envcube texture with something else, or otherwise fiddle with the color of the glass in this case?

I thought it was the square in the bottom corner of the texture.
Editing the reflection won't change the color.

Oh, that tiny little square? I didn't see it before. Thanks, I'll give it a try :)
I know that editing the reflection won't change the color, but if you recolor something like a glass table top, there are values in the Material Definition that can be changed to edit the color and opacity of the glass when there is no texture image to edit.

Hmm, there is something to it that you can't change in the texture files. I recolored both the counter top and finish, making the little square in both light grey. This is what happened (see attachment): Some of the glass parts in the kitchen island changed color, but none in the two counters, even though other parts of them were recolored.

This problem was pointed out when the first CEP came out.
As you know, only 2 parts of an object can be recolourable, and this counter has three parts: the wooden part (in your picture, light brown), the plastic part (light grey) and the glass (green). In the original counter, the plastic part and the glass are the same colour, more or less, but if you recolour the plastic, the glass won't be recoloured.
There's nothing you can do to fix it: the catalog won't support more than two recolourable parts...
If I remember well, that tiny square in the corner of the textures recolours the handles.

OK, thanks for telling :). I think the little square in the corner did color the parts that are light grey in the kitchen island now, but I'm not sure (the square originally was the same blue as the glass). Too bad there is nothing to do, since this would be a great counter to recolor. Oh well, maybe I'll have to start figuring out how to make my own meshes, then.
