Online Play

I just recently got a cable modem and i was wondering how do i play online? On my bf's computer it detects it fine, but I use to have dial up and it wouldn't and now it still won't. please help, thx :D

If you mean play sims 2 online, you can't, it is not an online game. I am not sure exactly what you are asking. Please give more informationon what you need. Perhaps someone can help. Thank you.

those are neighborhoods which come with the game....no online connection is nesecarry to play them

well they didnt show up on my comp when i had dial up. only on my bf's who has cable..

What type of connection you have or even if you have one at all makes absolutely no difference to the running of The Sims 2 in the slightest.

Do you mean the neighbourhoods don't show in the selection screen? .. do any show?

Its just sounds more of a concidence than to do with dial-up or cable, maybe your bf changed some other setting on the machine, which has made your game run better,

When you launch the game, you should have a choice of 3 neighborhoods. This has nothing to do with your internet connection. You would have the same with no internet at all. If you don't have the 3 neighborhoods, the only thing I can think of is perhaps it was a bad install. Strangetown is one of the neighborhoods included with the game. The only thing I can think to try, is uninstall and then reinstall the game. Good luck!

This probly sounds dumb but you didn't deleat them did you?

The pictures for the game neighborhoods are animated, user created ones aren't. I am guessing your user made neighborhoods are numbered 1 thru 3. If so replacing the original ones will most likely overwrite them, or worse combine them. If you back up your game and reinstall it will just do the samething in reverse, yours will overwite the game ones. You could reinstall the game and not use the ones you created. You can rename the neighborhoods, but I have read, you have to change a lot of files to do this. I have not tried it. I hope this makes some sense,and doesn't confuse you too much.
