Welcome to the 2011 Miss World competition! Our planet is filled with so many beautiful cultures, and over the next thirty days we will come together to celebrate the beauty that is inherent in each nation in the world.

The models entered in this competition are the best of the best, here to represent everything their country has to offer. However, there can only be one winnerhttp://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/lipgl0sscha0s/MISS%20WORLD/rules-1.gif This is a Sims 3 contest only. No EP's are required, but may be used.
Custom content, including sliders, hairs, hacks, and pose players are all fair game. This includes pay CC! Sims, however, must be made yourself! No Sim stealing or tweaking.
All entries must be received on the day they are due, no exceptions.
Please keep everything appropriate. Remember, this is a pageant! Keep it PG-13. That means avoid all swears. Pictures can contain partial nudity, e.g. for swimwear and/or lingerie rounds.
Keep photoshopping to a minimum . Cropping and airbrushing is allowed, but avoid color correction or special effects. Greyscale is only allowed when specifically listed.
Each picture should be its own picture- no combining, mosaicing or collageing (yes, I know those aren't real words.)
All contest rules must be followed. A full list can be found here (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=341258)http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/lipgl0sscha0s/MISS%20WORLD/models-1.gif All models should be female, YA, and have realistic skin tones. Body types, skin color, and appearance are all up to you! However, your model should represent the country she is from in ethnicity, stature, and clothing. Only one model from each country, please.

http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/lipgl0sscha0s/MISS%20WORLD/scoring-1.gif During a round, your models will receive up to five stars for each of their challenges. Depending on the round, your models will have to model for pictures, show off their talents, answer questions thoughtfully, or any number of challenges. The stars will be averaged together for their score. This leads to a possible total of 25 stars in each round, up to 100 overall. By the end of the competition, the contestant with the most stars wins.

Each picture will get their stars based on the following criteria:
Aesthetics
Best Representation of the Country
Creativity
Cultural Accuracy
Use of photographing techniques

Each judge will keep these criteria in mind while choosing how well they will score each contestant.

Scores will be posted on a round-by-round basis for all to see. All scores are final and public.

There will also be two BONUS ROUND opportunities.http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/lipgl0sscha0s/MISS%20WORLD/rounds-1.gifhttp://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/lipgl0sscha0s/MISS%20WORLD/Appl-R1.png

OoOoOoOo, this looks pretty cool :) Sadly I have a lot on this week plus I have a glitch in my game that would make completing the first round impossible but just on the off chance that I somehow dix it and get all my other jobs out the way in time to enter I was wondering a few things:

Photoshopping? Yay, nay?
Mosaicing? Yay, nay?
What's the plan for working around Christmas/new year?

um...think thats it...for now :p

Missroxor: You made some excellent points, so I have updated the rules to fit these circumstances. I will be accepting applications through Round Two, and will also be accepting late entries for rounds due to the holidays. No photoshopping besides the basic airbrushing/cropping. This is about your skills IN GAME, not your skills using photoshop. Hopefully now you will be able to enter the competition.

Name: Abbi Conrad

City and Country of Birth: San Francisco, United States

Age: 26

A Brief Description of your Heritage: African-American and German

A Short Bio: I was born Abbi Marie Conrad on July 11, 1985. I'm a 26 year old fashion photographer and fashion model for Ford Models, and I have been modeling since I was 13 years old, and have also modeled for Maybelline, Vogue, and Cosmopolitan. I've also walked the runway for the Vicoria's Secret Fashion show for two consecutive years (2008 and 2009). I was born in San Francisco but currently reside in New York City with my 7 year old son, Fox.

What do you love about your country? America represents what every person wants: the freedom to do what they want in order to improve their life and the life of their family. The freedom to speak and write without fear of imprisonment or death. The freedom to be.

Question: Why do you believe you were chosen to represent your country in the Miss World competition, and what image of your heritage do you wish to present to the rest of the world? The image of my heritage that I wish to present to the rest of the world is represented in my heritage by being a personification of our melting pot society. I represent my country by showing America in a new and vivid way. Also to dissprove the notion that we are a pigfarm, and do nothing but sit around and eat slop all day. Contrary to popular belief, we are the Home of the Brave not the Home of the Oinks.

Is the creative shot ment to represent your county, or show your personality?Your creative shot can be *anything* you want! Be creative!

When you say heritage do you mean ethnic background? Like Irish, Italian, etc. ?It basically just means a little snippet of your ethnic background.

my entry :D

Name: Leelavathi Ahsan
City and Country of Birth : Baleshwar(Balasore), India
Age: 22
A Brief Description of my Heritage : Indian, Spain(my grandfather)
A Short Bio : I was born in a family that stick strictly with Indian tradition, so I as a woman should not work and study more than highschool. They want me to get married immidiately after I finished school. I rebeled against them and run away to USA, I work hard part-timing everywhere since no workplace accept a highschool graduated like me. When I work part-time as a cameo in a movie, A talent scout from Starbridge agency ask me to be their model. I had nowhere to go and no money to spend so I said yes, and now I'm a model. After a while, I realize how I miss my country, the music, the smell, the crowd, everything so I go back there last year as a model. My family finally respect my desicion to become a model. not a housewife.

What do you love about your country? India is not a rich country but people there have such a dignity that surpass england nobleman, they're confident and always go all the way of what they believe. Indian culture, the songs, the clothes, ceremony they're all unique and one and only. Indian creativity is amazing, we see indian everywhere in this world as many type of workers and to me that's amazing.

Question: Why do you believe you were chosen to represent your country in the Miss World competition, and what image of your heritage do you wish to present to the rest of the world? I'm chosen because of my confidence and my attitude. I am a born spokesperson, a public speaker and I'm a model, I am the one for this and they saw it. I will show the world that Indian have dignity, Indian is creative, and I want to prove to the indians in this world that we are not babus.

To clear some things up (sorry I can't answer everything on an individual basis, I'll be responding in batches...)

Can I enter with my model if I have used her in previous contests?Absolutely! As long as you made her yourself and she represents a country, this is definitely fine.

Are you sure? I read the Contest Forum Rules and I don't see anything about payed CC not being allowed. I do have to know for sure though, because nearly all of my CC is payed content, and I'll just withdraw from the contest early. After a reading of the rules, my final decision is that pay CC is acceptable- whether it's from the Sims Store or not. I think the MTS site rule is that uploads of houses/Sims/etc. cannot have pay CC that must be downloaded to use the object. For this contest, I will accept any kind of CC, as I don't think it really gives any one person an advantage over another.

It's fine to leave spots in your post empty, however, please realize your entry cannot be judged until all components are there. This means you will need to get your creative shot uploaded by Sunday, December 18 if you want the scores to be with everyone else's.

I will update the main post to include your entry as well as all those who have committed to joining. Please everyone make a little note in your signature so people join the contest! You'd be surprised at how many people do this sort of thing. Spread the word, we need at least ten contestants to be able to continue!

Really? I was always under the impression that all contests should follow site rules which (I think) say you're not allowed to have pay cc in any pics...maybe I'm wrong (I'm too lazy and tired to go check) but it might be worth checking with Heaven before everybody loads their pics with pay cc.

Wow this seems really good! Can I have a save spot? Oh and I'm sorry if I ask, but english is not my mother language, so I would like a little bit more explanation about heritage! =) in the application round: "A Brief Description of your Heritage:" and the "Question: Why do you believe you were chosen to represent your country in the Miss World competition, and what image of your heritage do you wish to present to the rest of the world? 3-10 sentences"
Also, does the creative shot have to represent the country? =) and one last thing xD In case I can get a free spot, my country would be Italy ! :)

Name: Cecile Clarke
City & Country of Birth: Paris, France
Age:25
A Brief Description of Your Heritage: My mother is French, my father is English. I was born in France but was raised in England for 10 years until they divorced. I have been living in Paris since I was 12.
A Short Bio: Education has been my main goal since moving back to France. High School at first and then I studied Art History at university. My parents were so proud though I think they would have preferred me to have settled for a 'sensible' career as after graduating I found myself drawn to a Fashion Design course. Since completing that I have been working for a small fashion house in Paris, mainly setting up for shows and some basic design. I hope to work my way up to being a fully-fledged designer. I met Christophe at a show. He is a good friend and also a photographer. He takes pictures of everything. He took some of me, showed them to some contacts and the next thing I know is that I'm being asked to apply. I wasn't sure at first - after all, I'm not a model but I couldn't turn down the chance to represent my country.
What do you love about your country? Wow, where do I start? It is a country rich in culture and tradition where the ancient blends in with the ultra modern. A long and colourful history has developed a nation of people who embrace their heritage and are proud to share it with the rest of the world. The people are - well 'joie de vivre' is a French term for a reason. They live life to the fullest, are very family-orientated and are more concerned with quality rather than quantity. I love 'Cafe Culture' - there's nothing better than relaxing outside a cafe, coffee (or tea- the English part of me reappears sometimes) in hand, watching the world go by. I like to imagine the lives of the people I see - one day I might even write down some of my stories. With Paris being one of the world's fashion capitals it is very stylish and I was taught that creativity is inspired by observing people - in which case I should make an excellent designer! Mustn't forget the food and drink too!
A: I believe I was chosen as I am not a model. Sounds silly, I know but I see this role as being more of an ambassador for my country, particularly in the arts and fashion areas. These two areas, for me, represent the ancient blending with the modern. I hope that people will see that a hard working, educated woman, dedicated to her profession has an inner beauty which I want to shine. Originality is vital in my job so though I may not be a model by profession I don't see it as an impediment. I'm sure I have a lot to learn from my fellow contestants and am keen to take in every moment on this journey. After all, the contest is short lived but the role of Miss World, for the winner, is a whole year of adventure. I think I have shown that it's a journey I would take very seriously and my enthusiasm for my country and for the role itself will present France very favourably.

Might join, but I'm not sure I can post my entries very soon. Is it okay to reserve countries? Aww, that's so nice, but I Ngluvjj was faster than me and now I need to choose another country
Are country "reservations" allowed? Yes, that's fine. Let me know what country you'd like, but you should decide quickly! And if you can, try to choose countries that are in areas of the world we haven't seen yet. This won't be much fun if it's just Asia's Next Top Model ;)

Another question, can we enter for a country which is the federal subject in another country? I'm going to have to say no to this, since we're looking for very strong cultural areas. Somewhere like Puerto Rico wouldn't have the same kind of idea.

Anyway this is a picture of my sim Cecile Clarke. Her mother is French and her father English. She studied at the Sorbonne and lives in Paris so will be representing (hopefully) France. Thanks for your entry! Just don't forget to fill out the form and answer the question! I'll add you to the main page.

Oi. Moderator or not, you can keep your snide remarks to yourself. Alright, children, play nicely!

Wow, really tempted to do this, but I'm still kinda new to the whole 'posebox' thing in TS3. XD You should do it anyway! You'll still have fun and we can always use more contestants!

Is the bathing suit/ underwear picture ment to be on plain back ground or what?It should be against a plain white/grey background. The body just must be clearly visible. Think of this as a Victoria's Secret Modelling resumé- you want the focus to be you not the backdrop.

Since we can't use Federal Districts as countries then I choose Russia as whole (lol)
But bear in mind that there's a lot of ethnicity groups in Russia, so I would like to know if I'm allowed to chose one very specific? I mean it's hard to represent the whole country if the rest half of people look very different there. :anime:

Name: Eleonora Fonte

City and Country of Birth: Florence, Italy

Age: 22 years old.

Brief Description of Heritage: I'm 100% Italian, pure pure!

Short Bio: Hello, I'm Eleonora Fonte, but everyone calls me Ele! I'm 22 years old, and according to what others say, I'm a cheerful and friendly person! Sometimes I also get defined as crazy, but I beleive everyone of us has a little bit of crazyness trapped inside,no?
I won miss Teenager Italia back in 2006, and it was such a wonderful experience! I got enticed by my friends and family to participate in Miss Mondo Italia, the competition that chooses an Italian Beauty representative for Miss World, and guess what? I won that too! haha, that's why I'm here afterall!

What do you love about your country? Well I must say, absolutely everything! But two things in particular are food and art! Italian food is really something that other countries envy, it has always been tried to get copied, but no one succeeded in recreating the traditionnal taste of homemade pasta, or the simplicity of our pizza!
And, do I really have to talk about Art? Leonardo da Vinci says it all! And our floating city, Venice! The amazing Tower of Pisa! All this makes of Italy an artistic and solid country, and I really feel I'm lucky to be born here!

Why do you believe you were chosen to represent your country in the Miss World competition, and what image of your heritage do you wish to present to the rest of the world? Italy is for sure, a country admired worldwide. However, I want to proove that Italy is not only what stands behind the Monalisa. Italy goes way farther than that! My country is not only about food and culture, and fashion, but it's also about Humanity, and Peace. And I think I have what it takes to do it, the world will discover a new Italy through my character, and my heritage really helps in realizing that; since I'm nothing but Italian!

Otherwise we could have two people from Russia! You could make your model a mix of both ethnic groups, that would help, or just choose the largest ethnic group.

What do you love about your country? What I love the most about Brazil, is the the variability of art, where it derives from the body of dance to the color of the trees. It is exotic, enchanting, mesmerizing, wild but yet civilized. We are also bio-diverse. Which provides us with clean water, fertile soil, among other things.

Question: Why do you believe you were chosen to represent your country in the Miss World competition, and what image of your heritage do you wish to present to the rest of the world? I was chosen to represent my country because I have the drive, passion and attitude to make things happen. Support our beleifs, religion and economic goals. I am here to share our cultural diversity, to prove that you can have curves and still be beautiful. Also to share the color and artistic spirit we all have living in us.

It's easier to choose the country you've never been in, because it's not hard to notice facial features of a human which you don't see very often. Google image search could give you good example pictures of any people (even bushmen or eskimo).
When you choose your usual country, it's much harder, because all faces could look just "normal" to you, and if you can't find anything than stands out - it will be hard to make unique face.
This is what I did with my Indian model, I've never been near India and I didn't saw many Indian people in my whole life, but I tried to look up for some "common" faces and my Sim came out wonderful :)

City and Country of Birth: Guang Zhou, China
Age: 22
A Brief Description of your Heritage: 100% Chinese
A Short Bio: Greetings, my name is Sen Lin, but you may refer to me by my English name- Selena. I was born in the city of Guang Zhou, and spent most of my childhood there; however, I moved to Hong Kong to pursue higher education, and I am currently a student in The Hong Kong University of Science & Technology.

What do you love about your country? China is one of the richest countries in the world, and not without reason. The Chinese are known for their intelligence, and their perseverance. They know how to use the talents and resources they are given to achieve their goals, and they do not falter when faced with hardships along the process. Whether it is a pursuit in art, music, academic, or business, the Chinese's ability to maximize their results are truly astounding.

Question: Why do you believe you were chosen to represent your country in the Miss World competition, and what image of your heritage do you wish to present to the rest of the world? I was chosen for my skills and personality. I am born with various talents but, not only that, I have the desire to develop them and make the best use of them. I want to show that we Chinese have ambition, we have integrity, and we can shine bright without having to resort to illegal actions.

That's a great point. I was determined to run with my own country (Australia) but the more I thought about it, the harder it seemed. Not just the making of the sim but also representing my country itself using the sim model and pictures. I'd end up with kangaroos on a beach and that's about it, lol.

I'll go with the pretty Japanese sim I made and I just got back from there so it shouldn't be too hard. :)

A Brief Description of your Heritage: Japanese

A Short Bio: I'm the middle child in my family, having an older sister and a younger brother. I was going to follow my parents into the medical profession but discovered my passion for photography in my early teens. While it took some time to gain the approval of my parents, they gave me their blessing to study the arts. After a small modelling stint to help me raise funds to pay for my education, I discovered that I enjoy being in front of a lens as much as I like being behind it!

What do you love about your country? The sights and bright lights of Tokyo to the serenity of the mountains and countryside draw me in not only as a budding photographer but as a person wanting to experience everything life has to offer.

Question: Why do you believe you were chosen to represent your country in the Miss World competition, and what image of your heritage do you wish to present to the rest of the world?
I believe I was chosen for this role because I'm a strong, confident woman who has the ability and the want to show the world everything that Japan and our people have to offer. I'd like to share with the world not only the strength and dedication of the Japanese people but also the many aspects of our unique and fascinating culture. I love my country and I hope to express that in this competition.

@LadyAwesome - I can see it fine, don't worry. I know what you mean. I spend 90% of my time building and only play to play test a world usually. My usual sim-making skills are getting a townie and making them look more tolerable (less EA) and that's about it. Oh and to those new to the Pose Player, I only downloaded it 3 days ago so I'm right up there in the NOOB stakes in this one! Name: Alex Vaughn
City and Country of Origin: Berlin, Germny
Age: 23
Heritage: German, a little bit Italian
Bio: My friends and family often describe me with one simple word: weird. Other words that have come to define me are: spontaneous, dramatic, unpredictable, and just plain awesome. I've also been well known for my fertile imagination. I presume this all sprouted by my love of the arts, espicially literature. As a young girl, my family tranferred to the US for both educational and occupational reasons. After college graduation, I moved straight back to Berlin. I've been working as a model since, while writing my book in my spare time.
What do you love about your country?
Everything in German culture just fills me with wonder. Germany is known for being "Das Land der Dichter und Denker," the land of poets and thinkers. Ever since I was little, I had fallen in love in Germany's diverse styles of the arts and their representation of art. I also love the variety of cuisine there, everything from Italian to Japanese. Many important and historical figures have originated from Germany, such as Albert Einstein, Johann Sebastian Bach, and more.

Why do you believe you were chosen to represent your country in the Miss World competition, and what image of your heritage do you wish to present to the rest of the world?
It was a little shocking to me when they announced that I was chosen out of so many other applicants to represent Germany. If I were to guess why, it was most likely because of my love for German culture, and I did have a bit of an advantage from my modeling experience.
Many people look down upon Germany with scorn and contempt because of World War II and Adolf Hitler. Others often forget that the Nazis invaded their own country first. I want to show the world that Germany has a lot more to offer than living under Hitler's horrendous shadow.

Wait a sec.... I don't understand! White Background Or NOT? I thought I read somewhere that it doesn't necessarely have to be on a white background! =S It should have a white/grey background, but some people did not know this before submitting. So, as a blanket announcement for all who have yet to submit, YOUR HEADSHOTS AND BODY SHOTS SHOULD BE AGAINST A WHITE OR GREY BACKGROUND.

City and Country of Birth: Irkutsk, Russia

Age: 21

A Brief Description of your Heritage: A mixture of Siberian nations: Russian, Buryat, Siberian Tatar

A Short Bio: Born and raised in the city of Irkutsk, near the famous "Pearl of Siberia" - lake Baikal. Since my early years I was in a local folklore ensemble, I sing Russian folk songs and played three traditional instruments: Domra, Balalaika and Svirel.
After graduating from school I started studies in Irkutsk State University and I'm currently on the way of getting my history degree.

What do you love about your country? The beauty of its nature. There are so many beautiful wild places, untouched by humans and covered with their mystery. Lake Baikal is only one of them, but as we say here - if you haven't seen Baikal, you haven't seen Siberia.

Question: Why do you believe you were chosen to represent your country in the Miss World competition, and what image of your heritage do you wish to present to the rest of the world?
Answer: I believe I was chosen because of my rich heritage, as a mixture of many ethnic groups I can represent my country as the most exemplary person. Since the media has distorted the image of the Russian nation, I wanted to show the world our real face. We are honorable and strong people with thousands years of history behind us, our unique culture may be a mystery to outsiders, but we are proud to be who we are.

For those of you who have already submitted your entries, your scores should be up by Monday, December 19th. Those of you who are turning in your applications late, please try not to get behind. I'd really rather not see every single entry being submitted a week late, it messes up the whole time table.

I will be posting the Round 2 information sometime this weekend, so stay tuned!

A quick note about Bonus Rounds: There will be Bonus Rounds in rounds 2 and 3. In order to make them more challenging, NO late entries will be accepted for bonus rounds, whether you have an excuse or not. Because of this, however, bonus rounds will only add a few points to your scores and will not be able to completely tip the scales.

We still need a few more Emergency Judges! And judges, if you will be too busy to score a Round, be sure to PM me the Friday that round is due, otherwise we'll have to scramble at the last minute.

While Scotland is part of the UK there are distinct differences as in our own culture and language. I want the world to know how much Scotland has been a part of shaping the world as we know it today and what it has to offer today. I believe they chose me because I am a good representation of today’s youth in Scotland and it helps that I have red hair ;P.

Hey everyone! You may have noticed the changes I made to the original post and to my post laying out the rules for the application round. I'll be finishing up the banner for Round 2 soon, and once I'm done with that I'll be able to release the information!

I'm also cooking up a little surprise for all the contestants, so keep checking back in!

Round Two - Culture

This entry is due Friday, December, 24th, but late entries will be accepted through the end of the competition.

Your second round will be all about honoring your culture and respecting others. This is your opportunity to take pride in your heritage and choose how you want the nation you represent to be portrayed to the world.

Note: This may require a bit of research on your part.

Please provide:
-A full-body picture of yourself dressed in modern style from your country. This can be against any background but must be in color. Explain how the youth of your country dresses and how important fashion is there.
-A headshot of yourself that represents the makeup and hair that is common in your country. This should be against a plain white background. Explain how the stylish people of your country like to look and how important image is to most people.
-A picture of yourself that depicts culture from any different period of time in your country. Explain how your picture matches the culture of that time period. (Note: Because of limited CC, there is quite a bit of leeway on this one. Just do your best.)
-A picture of yourself that depicts you doing something you like to do that is very common to your country or your general cultural area.
-Answer the following question: What do you love about your country? What do you think is a large problem in your country?

http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/lipgl0sscha0s/MISS%20WORLD/Aday-BR1.png

This entry is due Friday, December, 24th. No late entries will be accepted under any circumstances.

This round will be a snapshot of one day in the life of each Miss World 2011 contestant. Participation in this round is optional, and scores will be tacked on to your final total. Each of these challenges will be considered as a whole. You can earn up to 5 bonus stars in each bonus round (this is to avoid skewing the results).

Provide the following:

-A picture that shows your work. Briefly describe what it is that you do and why you love it.
-A picture that shows what you do to let off steam and have fun. Briefly describe how you got interested in this and why you love it.
-A picture that shows what you do in your community to give back. Briefly describe how you got started and why you love it.
-A picture that shows a special talent you have that you work to refine. Briefly describe how you got interested and why it is important to you.
-Answer the following question: What do you love most about the daily life you live? What makes your life happy and special?

Name: Anippe “Ani" Sadat

City and Country of Birth: Cairo, Egypt

Age: 23

A Brief Description of your Heritage: 3/4 Egyptian, 1/4 Turkish

A Short Bio: Born and raised on the outskirts of the city I later moved to downtown Cairo to live with relatives while I studied History and English at Cairo University. I graduated this summer with honors and have recently taken a position as a junior curator at the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities. It was a colleague there that first tried to convince me to apply for the Miss Egypt beauty pageant. My initial reaction was not positive but I came to realize that it’s not all about dressing up and looking pretty. I hope to use the attention to advocate causes I feel passionate about and highlight the beauty and culture of Egypt.

What do you love about your country?
With over 5000years of recorded history, Egypt has possibly one of the longest and richest histories on Earth. It’s not only a source of great national pride but has also captured the attention of enthusiasts and scholars the world over for centuries. Of course, with the good comes the bad but combined, it’s what made Egypt what it is today: our history formed our cultural identity. I am proud of our roots but the thing I love most about my nation is our ability to put so much faith in honoring the traditions and customs of our ancestors, without allowing ourselves to become complacent in our ideals. We’re not afraid to look to the future, to challenge ourselves and to make history by daring to shape our own future.

Why do you believe you were chosen to represent your country in the Miss World competition, and what image of your heritage do you wish to present to the rest of the world?
I believe I was chosen to represent my country because while I have a deep appreciation and respect for Egypt’s vast history and traditions I am a progressive thinker and prime example of what it means to be a modern Egyptian woman. While I enjoy many of the freedoms of Western women such as the ability to vote, to educate myself and to earn a living I, like most Egyptian women, am also a faithful and virtuous Muslim who understands the importance of living a clean lifestyle.

In entering this contest I hope to show the world that Egypt is more than what’s written in the history books, that we are a constantly evolving nation with an eye on the future. I also hope to use this opportunity as a platform to highlight women’s rights, to show the world that it’s possible to be a good, religious woman without restricting women’s freedoms and rights.

[Edit] I am pulling out. - contests are ment to be fun. This seems like a lot of research, time and effort. Too many rule changes.

Plus its christmas, there is TOO MUCH stuff to do before then, and I have a 50 hour week ahead of me.

I’m a bit worried about the second round too (so much so I almost considered not submitting an entry for the first). It seems like a lot of work and I think it might scare people off continuing. Especially since it’s over Christmas: more work = less fun.

To illustrate my point I did a quick count and in total the round requires 1body shot, 1 head shot and 6 creative shots (I define creative as requires a set to be designed and maybe props) so 8 images total. 3 of those need descriptions that will require time spent on research and in addition there’s 4 other short descriptions (no research) required and 4 questions to answer. I know the bonus round isn’t required but there are those who’re in it to win it so will always attempt the bonus round. ;)

I hope this doesn’t come across as rude, I’m only hoping to help you out and hopefully prevent any loss of contestants.

I must agree on this with previous posts, it really seems like a lot of work right before one of the most important holidays.
Most contests on here usually ask for 2-3 images per round which seems more manageable. Also, some of the pictures require to show events (charity, common activities in your country) which are almost impossible with such limited possibilities we have in Sims 3. Moreover, some countries have quite big list of CC made for them while others have none at all.

P.S. One of the round 2 questions (What do you love about your country?) is already asked in round 1.

Right now i'm jumping for joy I didn't choose a foreign country since I chose my home country it's easier to answer questions about Australia. And I do agree Christmas is coming soon and I have to leave in two days to celebrate it at my mothers so it's alot harder to finish rounds I decided to do rounds at night especially because I suffer from insomnia and often play Sims when I can't sleep I believe you should take out the bonus rounds it's way to much and kinda unfair on the people who are way to busy to do them.

P.S I love your entry missroxor since I was 6 I studied Egyptian history I found it the most interesting I love your model to she's gorgeous.

Round 2 Culture

Explain how the youth of your country dresses and how important fashion is there.
http://i40.tinypic.com/1rb38y.jpg
Fashion is very important and were you live has alot of impact. The young females are more into natural colors and making fashion comfortable and stylish. Right now in Australia it's summer and it can get real hot so nice breezy clothing is the best as you can see with my shirt plus mini shorts are always fashionable here also I gave the shorts a bit of a distressed worn out look which is also popular. And not to forget the famous converse which really goes with the outfit. As you can see the nice natural look is very popular here.

Explain how the stylish people of your country like to look and how important image is to most people.
http://i41.tinypic.com/2ymadug.jpg
Image is also important and just like clothes the natural look is the most stylish. Girls these days try to go for long hair with either blonde or brown color. Having a lazy hairstyle (not that much work went into it) is also popular plus having straight hair is very fashionable

Explain how your picture matches the culture of that time period.
http://i43.tinypic.com/2vm683q.jpg
This picture shows a girl who is a convict and the sadness of the period having that she was young and alone like so many others. As you can see the sun is rising on her face this represents the future is bright for all that suffered during this time.

A picture of yourself that depicts you doing something you like to do that is very common to your country or your general cultural area.
http://i42.tinypic.com/or3q8l.jpg
As you can imagine my options are pretty limited so most of the things we do in the outback is outside when you live on a farm (or in my case a cattle station) having a nice ride on a horse is a lovely way to spend a hot summers day (or a swim in your local creek).

What do you think is a large problem in your country?
Racism though Australia is very multicultural the racism can get really bad. We often call people from other countries names that are very rude. The worst thing that ever happened would have to be a couple of years ago on Australia day there were these huge rampages were many young Australians bet or nearly killed people from other countries and the sad part is small rampages often happen on Australia day every year.

Note to everyone:

Before you just go pulling out of the contest, you should know a couple things:

-"Research" mostly entails Googling one or two things, and because of the Holidays you have almost halfway into January to get everything done (except the Bonus Rounds).
-The creative shots don't have to take a ridiculous amount of preparation...
-As for description, I say *briefly* and I mean *briefly* You don't have to write a paragraph, just 1-2, MAYBE 3 sentences.
-Bonus rounds are just that, Bonus Rounds, they don't add that many points so there's not pressure to do them.
-PLEASE voice your concerns before you just drop out randomly! It doesn't really help anyone to just leave.

EDIT: A note specifically about Round Two:

This is probably the most difficult round in the contest, but the round that is over Christmas Week is easy peasy (no pun intended, EasyPeaze) lemon squeezy. You have as much time as you need to get it done, and the Bonus Round really isn't required. I understand that some of you might have finals, grades closing, cleaning (ew), and other things to do, I myself have to pack and be in Columbus, OH on Saturday. This is why you have the whole length of the contest.

I also think some of you are overcomplicating things a bit. These "Creative Shots" do not require you to build a whole set- you could take some of them anywhere, in Sunset Valley, inside a house, etc.

If you'd all like, since scores don't come out for another day or so, I can change the requirements for Round 2 if most of you/us do not think it is doable. I would suggest snapping a Creative Shot with the aforementioned in mind today before you automatically assume it's too difficult. Lemme know how it works out xx

I should hopefully be fine with Round 2 - with the bonus round I presume with 5 pics and 5 points we could just do 2 for 2 points or 3 for 3 etc? Or is it all or nothing? Also do we need to put the round and the bonus pics on the same post as that could be quite lengthy? I guess with each point in the bonus round being 1 picture/answer they don't have to be as 'perfect' as those in the main round anyway. Might not be so bad:-S
Although I agree with Elexis about not repeating that same question.

Lipglosschaos, many people enter contests because they want to win (that's why all of them have a winner), and stating that they can just submit a bunch of not well made pics in a hurry isn't the right way to motivate them.
Then let me ask something, if bonus round won't add many points, isn't the 4 pics a bit too much? The first round had only 3 pics, 2 of which didn't require the background scene. I can assure you, that setting up the right scene is probably the most time consuming process. The quality should be more important than the quantity.
Your post is just screaming with words "either you want to win this contest, or have Christmas". I see that it could end up as a big train wreck.
As the member of this community I highly recommend you to review your requirements and consult with contest mods or more experienced contest hosts.

The bonus rounds are optional, so I don't see why there is so much speculation about them. You can do them if you want, but if I made Bonus Rounds equal to regular rounds, scores would get ridiculously skewed.
I never said it was Christmas vs. the contest. You have until January 13th to get all the rounds in, so there should be time to do so, and though I don't encourage you half-do anything, you don't need to be extravagant. Middle ground is always best.

I would rather go with "do your best" than "middle ground", but there's no way I will be able to finish it in time. Unless we can submit the bonus round first, and then the main round 2. That might give a chance to finish it.

German attire is no longer composed of tracht, dirndl, or lederhosen. Most of Germany has transitioned into the world's modern view of fashion. The most fashion savvy people in Germany love to wear rather elegant yet casual clothing while leaving for work, strolling through the park, or other everyday things.

Hair & Makeup
http://www.modyourpanties.com/hosting/32821_111218204235Miss World headshot 2.jpg
The majority of people I see in Germany have that sort of straight and shoulder-length hair most other places do. Germans wear makeup very similar to the people in the US. Personally, I usually wear little or no makeup.

Early Germany
http://www.modyourpanties.com/hosting/32818_111218203137Miss World early germany.jpg
This is when the cliché Hansel-and-Gretel-like clothing came to be. Women's clothing was called the dirndl and consisted of a fitted bodice combined with an apron and a blouse. A women's life was described by three things, kinder, koch, and kirche. (children, cooking, and church)

http://www.modyourpanties.com/hosting/32819_111218203346Miss World eating.jpg
The Germans often eat a lunch or dinner made up of bread, cheese, ham, sausages, and a salad.

What do you love about your country? What do you think is a large problem in your country?
I love how Germany has such a diverse culture. You can still feel the German essence, but you can also sense a touch of other cultures too. It saddens me how fast the economy is deteriorating. It’s worse that the poor have less opportunities, too, but it appears that they are beginning to overcome their problem and are doing well.

The researching isn't really bad. I finished researching around 15-25 minutes, but it might depend on the country your doing.

Sorry to hear people are dropping out, I was really looking forward to seeing all the entries. I understand that it's a decent amount of work though and I might have to skip the bonus rounds. Sadly, I'm too much of a perfectionist to throw something quick together.

Hi, everyone! I know there have been some issues/controversy about this whole thing, but hopefully his will still be a great contest.

A couple quick things:

-Scores will be up today/tomorrow. A couple judges were a little late and I'm looking at a busy night tonight with make-up work, planning and packing. We'll see.
-Keep in mind that even though you don't need to have your entries for the regular rounds in until January 13th, you should PM me to let me know if you will have them in late, so I can inform the judges.

Good luck everyone!

Briefly describe what it is that you do and why you love it.

http://i389.photobucket.com/albums/oo339/IzzyBits19/Screenshot-14.jpg

I am a Fashion Model and part time Fashion photographer, both jobs which are pretty self-explanatory.

As a young, tall, shy and very awkward San Franciscan girl, I would have never expected to become a model. It was under the suggestion of my aunt that I decided to enter into a modeling competition when I was 13 years old, and to my suprise I won. I then moved to New York City with my family, to begin my modeling career, debuting at New York Fashion Week (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_Fashion_Week) in 2001.

I didn't begin my career as a fashion photographer until much later (which may come to a surprise since I have a love for photography). The year was 2007 to be exact and I was doing a model print for Vogue Magazine, and who else would be behind the camera than, Chad Boutin. I distcintly recall asking him between takes, "Is that a Canon PowerShot G9". We exchanged words about our love for photography, and he gave me great advice on getting my foot into the door of fashion photography, and before I knew it, I was his protégée.

The life of a fashion photographer involves marketing, scheduling, directing, building or painting sets, and—not to be forgotten—taking pictures. My philosophy as a fashion photographer are in tune with the words of Chad Boutin, "it is an art form that delivers in terms of creativity and control."

I am dyslexic and I also take pride in being able to do what I love as a job without much complication from my dyslexia.

What do you do to let off steam and have fun. Briefly describe how you got interested in this and why you love it.

http://i389.photobucket.com/albums/oo339/IzzyBits19/Screenshot-8.jpg

I absolutely love going out and seeing the world. Travel is fun and I simply travel with the sole purpose of enjoyment. I am amazed by human creation/civilizations and nature itself.

I want to see the vast variety and possibilities that can be enabled here on Earth, and traveling allows me to extract that experience from different places.

I love travelling because it broadens my horizons and helps me gain a better understanding between people and their culture. The world can be so small minded and “set in its ways”. When we travel we begin to realize there is more than one way to live life and be happy. I think it opens us up to accept people and their “differences”.

What do you do in your community to give back? Briefly describe how you got started and why you love it.

http://i389.photobucket.com/albums/oo339/IzzyBits19/Screenshot-6.jpg

I am a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for the United States. I travel to India, Kosovo, as well as Angola, to work with UNICEF field officers there. I've raised approximately $50,000 for South African women and children with AIDS by selling own and school's photo work.

In honor of my 24th birthday (July 11, 2009), I ran an online fundraising campaign for Charity:Water. During this fundraiser I gave up my 24th birthday in order to raise $25,000.

A special talent you have that you work to refine. Briefly describe how you got interested and why it is important to you.

[Picture will go here]

When I was a little girl I spent a great deal of time with my great grandmother. Weekends during the school year, and the entire summer - that is until my mother forced me to go home! I just loved spending time with my great-grandmother. I remember when she’d put me to bed and leave the door cracked a little. I’d wait until I heard her walking down the stairs before I crawled out of bed, anxiously waiting to get my hands on that box beneath the bed. You might be wondering what was in the box? Pictures of course! There were pictures of me as a newborn, my family and my cousins. I would pull the photos out of the plastic box and look at them for hours. I especially adored the photos of my great-grandmother throughout different stages of her life, photos are visual storybooks.

Only a couple of months before my great-grandmother's passing, she gave me my very first Polaroid Camera for Christmas when I was 10 years old. With that camera, I discovered that I loved snapping pictures as much as I loved looking at them... and later I discovered that I loved being in front of the camera as much as I loved being behind it.

Question = What do you love most about the daily life you live? What makes your life happy and special?

As a fashion photographer and model I get the luxurious oppurtunity to see plenty of beautiful faces and get to wear gorgeous fashion everyday. However, at the end of the day the face that makes my life worth living is the beautiful face of my 7-year-old son, Fox.

Being a mother is a full-time job that stands on it's own, and is also one of the most fulfilling. It gives me the oppurtunity to experience the world through the eyes of my child, a fresh perspective. I love that everything is an adventure, that what to us adults would be considered mundane things can be fun and exciting! That things we take for granted, that we don't even see anymore are suddenly entralling again.

My son makes me feel connected in a way that is so much more than I had before. I feel incredibly connected to Fox, to his future and to the world that will house him. I feel connected to my mother – I now understand so much more about who she is and what she did for me. I feel connected to other women, both mothers and non-mothers. Children bind you to your world in way that is both very scary, tiring and deeply comforting at the same time. What a trip!

edit: Incomplete. Will have to finish later....

I guess as in any westernized culture we dress in a variety of styles. Scots embrace modern dress but love to combine it with the traditional plaid! We have a lot of fun with our fashion and I notice we like a bit of the old with the new. Fashion is important to the extent that it provides another form of expression and the youth here do it with flair!
http://i44.tinypic.com/rm0m04.jpg

I think people like to express their style in various ways a reflection of their personalities. Here in Scotland most girls keep shoulder length hair or longer and love to wear hats! Makeup is kept pretty minimal just enough to enhance features. I, like a lot of my peers will experiment with fashion. The most important thing is to have fun with whatever style you embrace!
http://i44.tinypic.com/xp8yz6.jpg

Medieval Scotland: Women if not of higher birth usually took care of the home. They did the washing and cooking and took care of the children. It was hard work and many died young. Scotland did have farms but the main industry was fishing. With difficult terrain, poor roads and methods of transport there was little trade between different areas of the country and most settlements depended on what was produced locally. Most farming was based on the lowland farmtoun or highland baile, settlements of a handful of families that jointly farmed an area notionally suitable for two or three plough teams, allocated in run rigs to tenant farmers.
http://i39.tinypic.com/2lvl5pk.jpg

I love to fish and Scotland provides ample opportunity for it! It’s been a staple industry for centuries and it’s a great pastime!
http://i41.tinypic.com/11r40aw.jpg

What do you think is a large problem in your country? Global economics and jobs are a huge problem and in Scotland it is no different.

Briefly describe what it is that you do and why you love it.
I'm a student, studies take most of my time, but I have a part-time job at the local recording studio, where I work with a traditional music ensemble. Assonant sound of folk vocal motives and subtle twang of Russian traditional instruments surrounds me every day, composing all that in one piece is the most joyful job ever. While a have so many other hobbies, music is the most important of them, so I'm very glad that I work there.

Briefly describe how you got interested in this and why you love it.
Russians are big car and racing enthusiasts, they love luxurious cars and like to show off their driving skills. My older brother used to take me with him to watch rally races, so I started liking rally cars. Now I'm driving my favorite of them - Mitsubishi EVO X.
I love to drive, especially at night when the city is filled with bright lights and the streets are empty.

Briefly describe how you got started and why you love it.
3 years ago I joined the "Greenpeace" organization, they made a big impact on me when I first saw their campaign on cleaning lake Baikal. I love my land and it's nature, so I wanted to join them and make myself useful to it. I want to make my country cleaner and a better place to live in.

Briefly describe how you got interested and why it is important to you.
Music is not only about singing and playing instruments, it's about dancing too. The most beautiful and disciplined to me is classic ballet. The famous prima ballerina, Anastasia Volochkova, made ballet in Russia very popular, she had inspired me as well.
Posture, alignment, feeling and flexibility are vital for becoming a classical ballet dancer. I think I have what it takes to achieve recognition in ballet, but I still have many things to improve before I can perform a solo in "Swan Lake".

What do you love most about the daily life you live? What makes your life happy and special?
I'm very happy that I can do what I love to do, I'm surrounded with music which makes my life brighter. I have an interesting job, which gives me tons of joy; I also have my hobbies, which allow me to improve myself both physically and intellectually; and of course my family, who loves and supports me.

Cecile Clarke - Round 2

http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/zz253/sandymdh/miss%20world/casual.jpg
Fashion is very important to young people in France, after all it is the country where 'haute couture' originated and many of the great couture houses are based here in Paris. The bi-annual Paris Fashion Week draws many people and most young people look at the trends for the upcoming season. As most of us cannot afford designer label prices it helps us pick colours, styles and looks from the high street yet remain on trend. French women love to look good and everyday clothes, even though 'casual', are generally fitted, flattering and stylish, especially jeans.
http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/zz253/sandymdh/miss%20world/facer2.jpg
The look I have gone for here is very 'red carpet'. Long hair is often tied up in a french plait or twist. This season the 'French Twist' is very popular, especially as several actresses at the Golden Globes wore their hair this way. Evening eye make-up is usually smokey and sultry, preferably with eyeliner. Lip colours can be bright and adventurous but usually glossy too. It's a look which is utterly timeless.
http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/zz253/sandymdh/miss%20world/Screenshot-115.jpg
The 1920s were a very exciting time for women in France. Firstly there was uproar when many women started cutting their long hair and sporting a short 'bob'. Out of the window went the corsets and full skirts and the inspirational Coco Chanel brought us 'the little black dress'. OK so it wasn't as little as modern LBDs but it was sexy, stylish and maybe even a little scandalous. I dream of being as innovative and trend-setting as she was.
http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/zz253/sandymdh/miss%20world/meal-1.jpg
French people are very sociable and family-orientated. We like nothing better than getting together for a meal and chatting through the evening with some good food, wine and company. The picture was taken at my favourite restaurant, overlooking Paris, with some of my friends.

France does have its problems, they are fairly similar in that respect to its neighbouring countries. Massive immigration during times of growth has meant that now, with the downturn in the economy there is high unemployment and people are struggling to make ends meet. I'm sure you saw images across the world of the riots in 2005. There have been more since, all around the country. A U.N. report last year cited a 'notable resurgence in racism and xenophobia' within the country but unfortunately the outsider often makes an easy scapegoat in today's society, not only in France.

Cecile Clarke : Bonus Round
Work:
http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/zz253/sandymdh/miss%20world/work.jpg
As I'm new to the profession I provide support to the other designers, coffee, research, creative help - anything they need basically. I spend the rest of my time working on my own designs, choosing fabrics and creating my designs to assess their viability. This can be hit and miss. It's an amazing feeling though to watch a model walk down the catwalk wearing something I designed, cameras snapping and audience applauding. It can be a long process from the drawing board to the catwalk so it's nice to get recognition of my hard work. I love the way my designs could possibly be seen all around the world within days in the magazines and within months on the public themselves.
http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/zz253/sandymdh/miss%20world/starlet.jpg
This is my horse, Starlet. She is stabled in Champs les Sims, at my parents house. I drive out there as often as I can and we have great fun together galloping across the countryside. The wind in my hair, beautiful scenery, the thrill of riding - nothing can beat the feeling.
http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/zz253/sandymdh/miss%20world/charity.jpg
I help out at a homeless shelter for teenagers in Paris. Some have run away from home due to difficulties and others never really had a home. We raise money for equipment, games, excursions and better facilities. I have even arranged work experience for some and helped others get onto a course of learning. These kids have not had the privileged upbringing that I've had. Nobody will be paying their tuition fees or stabling their horse. I want to help give them a chance to make something of their lives, sometimes this means listening to them or playing games and just being there as a positive role model.
http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/zz253/sandymdh/miss%20world/baking.jpg
The obvious talent I could talk about is art/design but I wont. I will instead tell you about my cooking skills. Believe me, it didn't come easy. I had several plates of burnt waffles and incinerated macaroni cheese before it started coming together. I prefer baking - the kids at the shelter often get the results, cupcakes and cookies usually.

I count myself as lucky, I live in a place I love. Paris is so vibrant, exciting and full of life. I have fantastic friends who are always there for me. My job is extremely fulfilling, allowing me to stretch my creative skills on a daily basis. Happiness for me is about the people around me, being allowed to be myself and use my brain and artistic abilities. I am fortunate enough to be able to help others achieve their dreams too.

Okay, so I know nothing about computers and while I was downloading some custom poses...something happened and it changed all of my package files to what I'm not sure but they look like some sort of winrar package now but one I don't recognize. Does anybody know what could have possibly happened because as of right now I am unable to use any of my custom content the game won't load with cc in but it will load with out it.

Okay here it is...lipglosschaos I will remove this post asap I won't continue to clutter up the contest.

I'm not all that computer savvy and I'm taking a bit of a stab in the dark but it looks like it might be opening with WinRAR instead of whatever packages usually use to run. You can right click on a package file and go to Properties to check what the file is opening with. Mine run with Windows Shell Common Dl so if it's different, changing it that might help. Good luck and sorry that you're having trouble!

Well I've checked it out and yes that is what it's opening with but when I try to change what it opens with I'm not getting many options. I'll just have to stick this up in the game help forum. I don't minded playing without cc but I don't want to give up twallens mods and my girl doesn't even look the same.

No worries.
I accidentally changed what it opens with when I was trying to work it out so I was forced to work it out anyway, hahaha.
It needs to open with the shell32.dll file which I found in my Windows>System32 folder in Windows 7. You have to hit Browse on the Open With window then manually navigate to your System32 folder. Make sure it's displaying All Files instead of Programs in the bottom right hand corner of the window or you can't see the shell32.dll file.
I hope that works for you! :)

- ROUND ONE SCORES -

http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m608/lipgl0sscha0s/MISS%20WORLD/SifBanner.png

Form: 5
Headshot: 4.5
Body Shot: 4.5
Creative Shot: 5
Question: 4
Total: 23/25

I liked the answer and felt that the way it was answered was simple and sweet. The headshot shows the sim in a way where I could see her features. The bodyshot shows how she looks and looks very neutral. The creativity shot was not included and therefore not scored .

I found your answer to the question “Why were you chosen” to be a bit ambiguous but I can’t deny it was still very well done so 4/5 for that. And your images were perfect as I’m sure you already know. Your creative shot in particular was just stunning. I love your model.

Lovely, absolutely lovely. All three pictures were well done and the creative shot is stunning and really shows off Emi as well as the country she is representing.

I am in love with your model! Your creative shot was gorgeous and you really depict what a Japanese woman looks like.

Body Shot: 4.5
Creative Shot: 5
Question: 4
Total: 23/25

I really like the creative shot, It looks real wonderful. the answer was a bit average and the headshot is actually good. Nice Job

I gave you a perfect score on your pictures mostly because your set up for all three was perfect. Your creative picture definitely looks like a “model shot” from a magazine; so great job

You’re definitely going to be one to look out for in this competition. Your model is drop dead gorgeous and one of the few whose nationality I was able to pick out before reading the country you picked. I absolutely LOVED your creativity shot. Most definitely my favourite.

I’ve never seen a Sim who looks quite like yours! She is so realtistic, for some reason it’s her lips that really stand out to me. Her eyes are gorgeous and I love that she is a redhead! Your body shot was good, but I especially love your clever use of makeup in the creative shot! FIERCE!

Question: 4
Total: 23/25

What can I say!? Gorgeous! Your makeup is crisp and clean, and she makes pale look sexy! Your creative shot is absolutely gorgeous!

Excellent job. I don’t have anything to say except that all of your pictures are extremely well done.

Beautiful photos, beautiful model... I won’t lie. I think I stared at Yesenia’s profile for a good 5 minutes before remembering I was supposed to be giving out points (The hair colour you decided on really is perfect. Great job). Your use of poses was perfectly executed and looked so natural, especially in the body shot. I was a bit worried about your creative shot at first but then I noticed that it was just an in-game background and that fixed everything. Perfect entry.)

I simply loved the entry and the details. Great Job.

Question: 4.5
Total: 22.5/25

All of your shots were well set up and beautiful and I thought the integration of the hand henna in your creative picture was a nice touch and cleverly subtle representation of Indian culture.

Beautiful entry. The answer to the question is great and shows why you feel you should be representing the country of choice . I think the sim is stunning and is shown in the best way possible. I found the creativity shot to be absolutely good and set in a Scene which makes me wonder why the sim looks sad, which I like.

Absolutely gorgeous! The headshot was lovely, but why did you change the makeup in her body shot? The clownish eyeshadow just seemed out of place and stuck out a lot to me. The creative shot is beautiful.

Oh my gosh why is your model so beautiful? This is sims! It shouldn’t be possible! Her eyes in particular are just stunning with the perfect shape, and the rest of her face is just as well done. Your creative shot was beautiful and well done, and your answer to the question “Why were you chosen” was just what I was looking for.

The head shot is pretty, but distracting. A little less makeup and accessories would have been suitable to show off Ani’s natural beauty. However, the creative shot is extremely well done – and more importantly, your inclusion of a “modest” body shot was a smart way to portray the culture and ideology of both Ani and portions of Egypt.

Beautiful entry and lovely job on the contest.

Ani is so well done and really does seem to a good Egyptian girl. In particular I really liked your body shot, and I’m glad you picked a more modest bathing suit as it seems to stick to Ani’s bio and ideals. So good job on that.

I thought your portrayal of an Egyptian woman was very culturally accurate. She is interesting looking and not the “typical” sort of beauty we normally see.

Question: 5

Grand Entry! I liked the responses to the Questions posed and I think they were well written an did not leave me wondering about anything said. The headshot and bodyshot needed a bit of work. the headshot was taken at a bit of a Angle that didnt allow me to see her facial structure too well. The bodyshot didnt show the sim's full body with her standing up. which took one point off for me. The Creative shot was my favorite because it showed what your sim liked to do on a normal day of their life.

I didn’t take points off this round for this specifically – basically because it was established later once entries were already posted – but head and body shots need to have a completely white or grey background for future reference. Your creative shot was particularly nice and the added touches of French food and scenery were clever.

Your answer to the question “Why were you chosen” was perfectly done as were your body shot and creative shot. In fact your creative shot is one of my favourites. Its simple but it shows what you told us in Cecile’s bio of her personality and of course it spoke “France” to me. However I just really didn’t enjoy your profile shot. I applaud you for stepping outside of the box to use black and white but it just didn’t work well for the photo.

I found your head and body shots to be muddy. The background is too complex and the colors aren’t crisp and clean, which draws my attention to what’s behind her instead of the model herself. The creative shot was nice, though.

Question: 4
Total: 20.5/25

Stunning model, beautiful photos, and simply amazing creative shot. I don’t know why, but having your model “Wearing the Italian flag” just sounded very italian to me and I do know quite a few italians. So good job on that. Your answer to the question “Why were you chosen” was perfect.

Again: no points were deducted for this because it was announced after most people posted their pictures, but the body shot needs to have a white or grey background. The head shot is a bit distracting, if only because she has so much makeup and jewelry on. Modeling head shots are generally just a simple picture – without much makeup or accessories – displaying their natural beauty. Your creative shot was well done and the integration of the Italian flag colors was clever.

I liked the answer to the question Though It left me wondering how you are making your country of choice about Peace and humanity? How are you making it more than just a painting ? Those are questions I felt unanswered. With the headshot I felt the sim's make-up/hair prevented me from being able to see her full face structure. The bodyshot is a nicely set background she looks like she is representing the more modern side of her country of choice. the creative shot wasnt all too good. The Clothing didnt look so well with the colorings and it didnt look all too creative enough

The headshot was done well, but I found the hair to be to fancy for what it was. The body shot pose is cute and creative. The creative shot is interesting as well.

Great job with your model. She’s beautiful and I love her curves. Very Brazilian. You lost a point in your creativity shot because (while beautiful) the shot looks awkward and without the title I never would have figured out what the photo was supposed to be about. I like your answer to the “Why were you chosen” question.

I found the answers very good. I liked it and it didn’t leave me wondering about it. The headshot was great I could see the Sim's facial structure finely without any form of problems. The bodyshot really shows the answer to the Question. It shows that although she is a bit curvy she can be beautiful. The Creative shot shows the artistic spirit through love. It is just neatly done and romantic.

The head and body shots are beautiful; I especially like how happy she is in her head shot. The creative shot – I know it is supposed to be her dancing with a partner – is set up awkwardly [it looks like he is sniffing her hair]. However, the aesthetics are definitely there so I still gave it four stars.

Your model’s smile in your headshot was a bit awkward to me, and the creative shot was interesting but I felt like it was done from an awkward angle. The body shot was lovely, though- but I can’t see the curves that you’re talking about. She seems quite lean and has the typical model stature.

Question: 4

The head shot could have a bit more personality – she looks a bit bland in it – and your body shot was well done, but the last shot – although pretty and your standard model picture – was lacking some “oomph” to make it creative.

I absolutely love your model! Abbi is adorable and has some really nice features that I think go well with the heritage you gave her. Her profile was simple, and I just loved her body shot. For the creative shot however I docked two stars/points because while creative, the shot had a few too many problems with it. The water was too close to Abbi and blurred her too much to just ignore and the pose made her look awkward. Your answer to the “Why were you chosen” was EXACTLY what I was looking for and it just made perfect sense to Abbi’s background. Great job overall and I can’t wait for your round 2 entry.

I feel that some things were lacking and others were added to fill in for missing things (which surprisingly are not missing). How are you showing America in a New and vivid Way ? What are you doing to show it in this new way? How are you disproving the Pigfarm notion? Then with the Headshot, I gave it a 4 because It showed the sim neutrally and without so much content on her, which in turn allows us to see how she looks like. The Bodyshot really killed you because of that Tattoo. I think it was added there to fill in for something missing which to my suprise nothing is bad or missing. Then with the Creative shot I felt not much creativity in it. I feel as though your selected country isnt represented by your creativity shot or what your sim likes to do.

Abbi is very pretty, but I’m not a fan of the makeup or the expression on her face in her headshot. The cleavage also distracts me from her face. The creative shot is interesting, and I actually like the fact that she has a tattoo.

Loved the entry but I somewhat feel that the answer needed a bit of detail in it (mostly because I am interested in the answer.) Otherwise the images were decent and fine. (I do Love the Creative shot the most. I like how it looks so calm and simple.)

Alex is quite the beautiful model and I really enjoy the personality you’ve give her. You “Why were you chosen” answer was very well written and I enjoyed your creativity shot a lot, it really showed what you told in her bio.

Alex is very interesting to look at and lovely to boot! The only thing I’m not so sure of is her creative shot- is she wearing a bikini? Why is there a white baby grand piano in the middle of a park, and why is she playing it?

Question: 2.5

The question was supposed to be covered in 3-10 sentences and you only wrote 2; it also wasn’t entirely descriptive of what makes Jessica so special – beyond her personality. Jessica is very beautiful and it would have been nice to have some variation in her look between the three shots to show that off.

Jessica’s adorable! I had a friend from Australia who looks just like her so that made me laugh for a good bit (She was a good friend, don’t worry). However I wish you’d gone into a bit more depth in your answer to the question “Why were you chosen”. While your creative shot was very basic, it showed us what you put in Jessica’s bio so I gave you 5/5 for that. Good job.

I feel as though the answer is lacking a lot in the sense of elaboration Which is why it earned the score. Otherwise the images were good.

Your answer was too short, but I like your model a lot. In the headshot, her smudgy eyeliner stood out to me as messy, as well as her general expression. Her body shot was very low-res, and while I won’t take off points, it can detract from the overall experience.

Form: 5

FIERCE!

Great Job.

Question: 4

Question: 4
Total: 19.5/20

Total: 18.5/25

Thanks for the info sorry it was so lacking it's just I'm more of a person who answers what needs to be answered I don't go into detail much I'm more of an photographer then a writer so to speak and her creative image was simple because there's nothing glamours about were she lives most of these girls are feminine beauties my character was suppose to lack in that as she is a tomboy to match her living location. So I gave her a rough edge you say you want the person in the photo and that's her.

P.S The make-up issue is because most of my photography is with indie rock girls and tom boys so as you can imagine my make-up isn't glorious and neat most of it is rough.

Just recently, I moved to Munich to pursue a modeling job in Elle Magazine. The other models and staff are very nice and are perfect for the occasional laugh. Everyone there is so kind and helping that it creates this cozy work environment. True, the things they sometimes make me wear are a bit embarrassing, but after I’m done pouting about the costume, we all have a laugh.

My friends and I frequently have many late night outings. It’s a great way to socialize and relax. We may go out to the movies, have sleepovers(you’re never too old for sleepovers), or maybe even have a beer or two. Beer has been proven to lower stress. ;)

At least once a week, I volunteer at the orphanage. It’s kind of a family tradition that started with my grandmother. She was an orphan for several years until a gracious family came and adopted her. When she grew older, she volunteered almost daily at the orphanage, tutoring the kids and playing with them. She got my mother interested, and my mother got me interested. I continue to do what my grandmother did today. It gives you that warm, bubbly feeling when you see the kids’ faces light up when you come. I plan on adopting one of them when I settle down and get married.

As a mentioned in my application, I have a love of literature. In college, my English teacher told me I have a wonderful writing style, and asked me if I had ever thought about pursuing a career in writing. I said no. But her question made me think about it, and I decided to submit my book to a publisher. They rejected it. So I sent it to some other publishers. They also rejected it. After that, I gave up on a writing career and decided to only write as a place to pour out the funky little creatures that accumulate inside my mind. Now that I’m modeling, there's little time to begin really refine my writing skill. While I’m no J.K. Rowling, being a professional author is my impossible dream.

What do you love most about the daily life you live? What makes your life happy and special?

I feel so blessed to be surrounded by such a wonderful life. Modeling is a rewarding job and I never feel over pressured by taxes and debt, and as a child, my life was filled with episodes of smiles and laughter. I have so many wonderful friends that my life is full of happiness today, too. Many people out there in the world today, including Germany, are barely scraping by. Also, in other countries, it is not uncommon that girls are abused and married off at a very young age. I feel very lucky to have a pleasant and safe life that many in other places do not.

An insane wackjob decided there wasn't enough room in his house for a baby grand piano, so he decided to "donate" it to the park. One day, Alex felt drawn to the piano (I think she was possessed) and erratically played it despite how horribly out of tune it was. We have some real weirdos in this world. :)

Actually I've seen piano's pop up in the most random places...maybe it's not reached America yet but for a while there in the UK it seemed to be the popular thing to do in terms of street art (or something, idk). Somebody would plonk a piano down in a park/busy shopping street and people would just go up and play. A couple of years ago I watched a hoodied up kid who couldn't have been more than 14 stroll up and do a perfect rendition of a piano heavy Muse song (can't for the life of me remember which one now) on a purple piano in the middle of the high street.

Work/School
This is my dorm at St. Andrews. This is where I have been working/studying for the last three years. I can't wait to put what I have learned into action with a real job!

Having Fun
I was sort of a wild child with an excess amount of energy and I didn't want football or knitting and one day as I was shopping with my mom I saw a martial arts studio and knew that was it for me. I have won several medals in my advancement in martial arts and currently am a second degree black belt.

Giving Back
Scotland is having an obesity problem and I offer my expertise in martial arts at a local community center. Exercise is important to maintain a healthy body and mind.

Talent
When I younger my dad gave me the bug for astronomy and him and I get together once a year and spend a weekend up in the Highlands of Scotland and for the whole weekend discover the universe. I keep up with it periodically at school but not as often as I would like. I know some would say that looking at stars is not really a talent but you really have to know the a lot in order to find what you are looking for and I have a knack for it.

What do you Love about the daily life you live?:I love learning new things and being in school offers me that pretty much on a daily basis.
What makes your life happy and special?:The giving of my time whether that be to my friends or my community which fulfills me completely and only intensifies my desire to do more.

My job at the cattle ranch is to look after the horses like feeding and grooming them and making sure there alright I even have a degree in being a vet so in case the horses get sick I could threat them myself. I have loved horses ever since I was a little girl so working with them is a fantastic job I really enjoy.

Enjoying nature like camping and fishing are my favorite ways of letting off steam. Why because when I was little my father used to take me out camping sometimes we wouldn't even bother bringing food my father just brought his shotgun and we would be eating kangaroo for dinner.

When I was little a nice lady called Margret Tilly opened a place were she would teach children who lived to far away from schools and parents were to busy to home-school them. I was her first student and she was a very nice lady but a couple of years ago she came down with bowel cancer and died to keep her legacy going on I grouped together a bunch of people from different parts of the outback and we now run her business and I am one of the teachers.

A picture that shows a special talent you have that you work to refine.

Painting I love it and I don't want to brag but i'm pretty good at it. I usually paint landscapes and single objects but i want to get in to portraits but right now it's my weak point. To help me with it the lady who cooks at the cattle station is actually a painter herself and she does portraits so we made a deal that i would teach her landscapes and she would teach me portraits.

What do you love most about the daily life you live?
It has everything I enjoy and I love the people I work with they are so friendly. Working in the outback is also very easy for me since I grew up here and it always feels like home. Choosing a modeling courier was very hard to. Soon I will be flying out to Sydney for a photo shoot but at least I know there somewhere I can go to that will always fill me with happiness.

What makes your life happy and special?
This job is one in a million working here is something not every body does and it makes me feel happy and special. My life is filled with adventure I sometimes think i'm living in a story book with the adventures I get into and things I see every day there are no worries in my life well maybe I worry whats for dinner. Living in the only country with red dirt is the biggest thing for me.

Bonus Rounds were due the 24th, no exceptions, so unfortunately, LovelyDia101, yours cannot be counted :(

I haven't gotten any scores yet for this round, but it'll only be a short post anyway because these entries are not due until January 13th. Please get them in as soon as possible- I don't want anyone to worry about it amidst all the Holiday mayhem, but I also don't want you all to just blow it off because you can. I'll be sending along information for Round 3 sometime today- this will be the easiest round in the competition by far.

Something was brought up to me about this, but I did say it was due Christmas Eve. I'm sorry if you think that's stupid, but they're not worth that much anyway and if you are truly as busy as you all say you are then you shouldn't even be bothering with extra work in the first place.

Neither of you are being 'moany bitches' ;)

...but they're not worth that much anyway and if you are truly as busy as you all say you are then you shouldn't even be bothering with extra work in the first place.

My turn to be a moany bitch:

1) Forgive me if I’m understanding it wrong but if the whole bonus round is complete we get 5 points? In the first round there was only 4.5 points between the top and bottom score. So no, 5 points on their own isn’t a lot but it can still make the difference between first and last place! That’s why some people (myself included) complained about it.

2) To the second part of the quote: The first round is an intro but still usually sets the tone for the rest of the contest. Many probably signed up expecting a standard 2-3 pic per round contest based on your first round and will probably have figured that into their schedules...I don’t think any of us expected to have to find time for 8 pics and a fair bit of text. I hesitantly put my entry in just after you posted the second round but only because I’d already put all the work in and in all honestly, I fully expected you to rethink the requirements after several complaints and one withdrawal. I’m just saying If you don’t want people to be shocked and surprised by the workload then either make it similar to the first round or mention before the contest starts that future rounds will be more than double the workload of the first round (inc bonus shots).

Bonus Round: Portfolio

Due Date: Tuesday, January 3rd, no exceptions.

In this bonus round, you will be showing off your modeling talents and your ability to spot what other people want to see. It will allow you to gain understanding in the ways of marketing. Participation in this round is optional, and scores will be tacked on to your final total. Each of these challenges will be considered as a whole. You can earn up to 5 bonus stars in each bonus round (this is to avoid skewing the results).

Note: Because of the nature of these challenges, PM lipglosschaos ASAP to let her know you will be attempting it. If you, at a later point, decide not to attempt it, that will not be an issue.

Please provide:

-Provide an advertisement for a real makeup brand that you will be assigned via Private Message.
-Provide an advertisement for a real clothing brand that you will be assigned via Private Message. This may require a quick bit of research as to the style of the brand and how some of their clothes look.
-Create a name for your own perfume, and provide an advertisement this perfume. Provide a quick explanation of what the perfume smells like and how the scent represents your country.
-Choose a charity and create an advertisement for that charity, providing a short explanation as to why this issue is important in the world and how people can stop it.
-Provide a creative shot of anything you wish. This is just for fun, so do whatever you please! Show off your creativity and artistic flair.

Greyscale is allowed in any of these pictures.

You may add fonts, logos, and other embellishments to all pictures in the Bonus Round only. You may also include other models in the pictures as long as they serve a purpose (in the Creative Shot, they need serve no purpose at all). Your model can be against a plain white background or against a scene.

3 days??? Are you serious?! In previous bonus we have the whole WEEK!!! And this one requires more shots!! I'm sure it's against the rules to change the deadlines between rounds to shorter ones (even if it's a bonus) without a notice! Rounds should have been posted Dec. 24 and as they weren't - the deadline should start from the day they were posted!!! Otherwise it's a total bullshit to count the deadline since 24 when no one even knows the round!!!
I will mention it again - the rounds MUST HAVE the same amount of time between them and they should start from the moment they are posted!!! Otherwise, you MUST inform the contestants about the shorter deadline! They can be extended, but it also should be made with announcement!
I hope that it's just a mistake and will be fixed soon, otherwise I will must to involve admins here.

I also think that you need to give people more time for rounds. Its ridiculous to do a good job at this time of year for limited time. Because your aloud to extened the round times. They can be more then a week the mods do not mind. This is causing the contestants stress rather then having fun. This contest is such a brilliant idea, you have done well coming up with the ideas, but using the fast forward button to get through this fast is redonkulous. I wish you would just think about this over more. feel free to pm me if you want to talk about it.

lipglosschaos, Elexis is trying to help you by pointing out that your requests are unreasonable. Please remember that this contest is supposed to be fun, and that participants are people who have real life, work and family commitments. Elexis is a moderator and should be heeded.

Also, I'm a little confused by your deadlines.

You have until January 13th to get all the rounds in, so there should be time to do so,

I will change it to TUESDAY, JANUARY 3rd. Sorry about that...

So which date do participants need to complete this round by? Perhaps you should review your round requirements and your deadlines, to make things clear and reasonable for participants to complete.

The way I understand it if it helps is that all rounds have a due date of about a week but only the bonus round has to be in by that date. For the "normal" part of the round as long as you PM lipgloss to say you're gonna be late you can submit it up to 13 Jan which I pressume is the end of the contest. Bonus rounds cant be late.

How would you define “beauty”?
Beauty is something makes you smile or fulfills i'm not only talking about outside beauty but all beauty like the beauty of nature or love. Societies view on beauty is more into looks it's sad to think it but it's true these days some people go to the extremes to be beautiful like plastic surgery i do hope society doesn't follow this view for long i rarely wear makeup why my father told me i'm beautiful in my own way and that i don't need anything to improve myself but that's how i think. Pageants make you feel special and beautiful i do hope everyone wins them though. Most girls see it as a talent people get praised for being good at instruments and art but in these comps they get awarded for being smart and beautiful a gift they should be proud of.

What do you feel it means to be a role model?
It's pretty scary to think if you make a mistake it can effect others pretty easily. I want to be a very good role model to young girls and teach that do have a chance to fulfill there dreams like me i was living in the middle of no were with a father who struggled with money everyday and now i'm in the miss world comp. I help out as much as i can and make sure everyone gets a chance to have one.

What is the most important moral issue that you are presented with on a daily basis? Growing up to early. This causes underage alcoholism and drug use. Kids these days are in such a rush to grow up it's terrible. Your only young once and you should enjoy being young cause when you grow up and finally get to be an adult it's not as fun as you thought it would be there are bills to pay things to study and work when you get here you wish you were young again and realize you've lost your chance. Childhood is the age of innocence and should always stay that way.

Staff Announcement

Due to continued confusion over dates and deadlines, concerns over timing and eligibility, all suggestions and staff instructions being disregarded, along with problems in communication, MTS staff will now be conducting hosting duties for the Miss World Contest. Contests should be fun and expectations for contests should be comprehensible AND obtainable. When there are questions regarding that, they should be evaluated and changed accordingly. In this case, they were not, therefore we feel it will be in everyone's benefit to step in.

We will, at the very least, finish out the current rounds. What we would like to know from the contestants is whether you would like staff to attempt to continue and finish with a last round or if you would like to end it after this last round as I imagine, for some of you, you might just be frustrated and ready to move on.

If anyone would like to discuss this further, we will be happy to do that via PM but please keep the contest thread itself free of drama chatter.

EDIT: Contestants, please let me know if you have dropped out or not. I know some of you may have PMed for an extension for Round 2 and I am working on getting that information but knowing who will be finishing and who won't be will make things a bit easier on myself and the judges.

How would you define “beauty”?
I believe that “beauty” is defined by a harmonious blend of necessary human emotions and character. Among these are honesty, compassion, generosity, and most importantly, love. Society, aided by the media, has mutated the word “beauty” into a hollow shell of what it used to be, only consisting of what’s supposedly pleasing to the eye. While entering the Miss World competition, one of my goals was and still is to prove young girls around the world that today’s definition of beauty isn’t what counts; it’s what’s within. I wanted to teach the world that you don't have to wear an excessive amount of makeup or wear totally inappropriate clotthing to be beautiful, you just have to be your weird, wacky self.

What do you feel it means to be a role model?
I feel a great sense of joy (and a bit of pride) when I acknowledge the fact that I’m a role model for girls around the world, especially in Germany. It also makes me a bit jumpy when I’m in public, as one of my greatest fears is that someone might point me out and say “oh, isn’t she that girl from the Miss World competition? Why is she (insert embarrassing activity here)?” I don't want to disgrace the name of Germany. Fortunately, that hasn’t happened yet. Instead, I’m often gifted with the surprise of some lovely little girl bouncing up to me, asking for my autograph or a picture. And of course, I say yes and send her off to her mother with a big toothy grin on her face.

What is the most important moral issue that you are presented with on a daily basis?
Integrity. Most people call integrity “doing what’s right when nobody’s around.” It’s true that it’s difficult to do the morally right task when no one’s around to appreciate it or when there’s no reward, but what’s even more challenging is to do what’s right when someone else is around. The reasoning that goes through individuals’ minds in this situation is “oh, no one else is doing anything so I don’t need to either.” And I admit, this has run through my mind on occasion, too. But then I remind myself I’m better than that, that I don’t have to be like everyone else, and that I have integrity. This is a lesson that I wish to teach not only to the younger generation of the world, but also the older generation. If everybody had integrety, then the bystanders wouldn't be just bystanders anymore; they'd become heroes.

Oh, also for my remaining contestants. Please do Round 3 first and worry about the bonus later. I'd really like to get the actual rounds done and scored before we worry about bonuses. If we choose to end the contest gracefully, after Round 3, we won't worry about a bonus. If we choose to continue with a Round 4, the due date for this bonus round will be extended.

Also, if you have not turned in Round 2 yet and still plan to do that, please do it quickly. I know you may have spoken with lipglosschaos for an extension but the sooner we get them in, the better so if you have time, please work on it. :) We (myself and the judges) would like to get your scores back as soon as we can and we're still waiting on 5 entries. Cecile Clarke: Round 3

http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/zz253/sandymdh/miss%20world/formal.jpg
How would you define "beauty"?
I know everybody says beauty comes from within but aesthetically some people are naturally more beautiful to look at. This doesn't mean much though without something to back it up, for example happiness, a positive attitude or a vibrant personality. These things all make a person much more alluring. I could name several celebrities whose features are less than perfect but they have a charisma which has made them very attractive and successful.
http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/zz253/sandymdh/miss%20world/swim.jpg
What do you feel it means to be a role model?
The women in this contest are showing people that they aren't just pretty faces but have other talents and qualities. With very different backgrounds we have all worked hard to get where we are. I simply want those who are less fortunate to realise that with enough hard work they too can have an exciting career and comfortable lifestyle. It may mean that being female means we have to work a little harder but nothing's impossible.
What is the most important moral issue that you are presented with on a daily basis, and where do you stand on this issue? How do you support your beliefs with action?
It may seem trivial but to me 'being myself' is what keeps me going. It is easy to take money, particularly in the modelling business, to represent something you don't agree with. I won't model real furs for example or for companies I see as 'unethical'. I'm not going to act 'dumb and pretty'. Too many people turn a blind eye and just take the money but that's not me.

Modern Russian clothing style
http://www.modyourpanties.com/hosting/33068_111229123407Fashion.jpg
While summer fashion in Russia is very influenced by western countries, the winter fashion has it's own essential and unique touches. Shuba (fur coat) is one of them - fox's, rabbit's or mink's fur is used to make shubas. Fur coats were in trend for many years until the new wave of fashion came in - synthetic fur, along with introduction of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) organization. Younger generation in Russia is described as generation of big activists for defending animal rights and I am one of them. My shot represents that animals are our friends, not our clothes - you can look beautiful and stylish using synthetic fur and other materials.

Common Russian makeup and hairstyle
http://www.modyourpanties.com/hosting/33069_111229130218Makeup1.jpg
I chose a more classic Russian "going out" makeup and hairstyle to represent in my shot. Makeup itself isn't the most important part in Russian girls style, but it helps them to look even more stylish and beautiful.
Everything starts with a soft pale foundation, which highlights the natural beauty of their clear and icy pale skin color. Second, black mascara is essential to achieve elegant "classy" look in their eyes. Third, vibrant red lipstick or lip balm is used to give more attractiveness to the lips. Combine all that together with silky and straight long hair that Russian girls usually have, adding a stylish warm winter hat as a finishing accent, and we can have the real "Nordic Princess" image.

18th century Russia
http://www.modyourpanties.com/hosting/33070_111229132124RussianIzba.jpg
My picture represents the image of the daily Russian people's life from the 18th century. The peasant woman prepares the regale for the family festive. Most important Russian tradition during the family festives and weddings was the "Bread and salt" ritual: fresh, home backed black bread was served to the guests as a sign of hospitality and friendship. The other important ritual was drinking tea from Samovar (traditional Russian water boiler). Among other goods, the dish with caviar should be served too, as it's the main appreciable Russian delicacy. Apart from food, there were the requirements for clothing too, the good hostess should wear Russian traditional clothing: sarafan - the main part of the outfit dressed on top of the white shirt with long loose sleeves, and kokoshnik - the spruce head accessory combined with hair tied in a long braid.

Common activity - Banya (Russian sauna)
http://www.modyourpanties.com/hosting/33071_111229134718RussianSauna.jpg
Banya, or Russian sauna is one of the main relaxing/bathing rituals in Russia that came from the middle ages and are successfully performed these days. Russian sauna differ from other types of saunas, because it's the only sauna that uses wet steam. It increases the effect of hot air stimulation and is assumed as the most effective type of sauna. The ritual includes people hitting (massage) themselves or others with bunches of dried branches and leaves from white birch (called veniks) and water is splashed on the rocks to produce hot and relaxing steam. After a few steam sessions, people like to drink root beer, tea, or other beverages, play games or relax in a good company in an antechamber to the steam room. In the winter, people roll in the snow with no clothes on or run to cold lakes where holes have been cut into the ice for post-banya bathing purposes, it's has a similar effect as contrasted shower, but only much stronger and more relaxing.

What do you think is a large problem in your country?
My country, as any other country, has it's problems. The main of them is the huge inequality between big cities and small standoff towns and villages. While in big ones people have so many work, education and self realization possibilities; small ones are left behind with many poor or uneducated people who have no chance of making their lifes there. Russia is a very big country, so many different cultures are spread throughout it's territory, so it's understandable for it to have it's strong and weak regions. However, if our government could give a little more attention to the smaller towns and a little less to the bigger ones, I believe we could reach at least bearable social and economical equality.

How would you define "beauty"? The word beauty for me evokes a feeling of pleasure that creates happiness; beauty like time is everlasting ever changing day by day.
How do you think society defines beauty? Society defines beauty in many ways throughout time we see lasting architecture and music and paintings/fresco's that is representative of beauty.
How do you think being in a beauty pageant sets an example for young girls? Beauty pageants are a showcase of talents and interests of each contestant learning and appreciating each unique quality in us all is the best example.

What do you feel it means to be a role model? A role model means that one takes responsibility for playing an active role as a leader in your community.
How do you live your life being a role model? Volunteering in a local community program is the way I have chosen to be a good role model and give back what I have learned to others.

What is the most important moral issue that you are presented with on a daily basis? Animal cruelty is prevalent worldwide and it needs to be brought to the attention of our country's leaders.
Where do you stand on this issue? There needs to be harsher punishment to those that inflict the cruelty on these helpless animals.
How do you support your beliefs with action? I help by volunteering my time and love at a local shelter and with the charity Guardian Angel.

How would you define “beauty”? How do you think society defines beauty? How do you think being in a beauty pageant sets an example for young girls?
To me, "beauty" is a synonym of "harmony". Everything that creates harmonious and pleasant feelings in the mind - shapes, sounds or colors, could be called "beautiful".
While the definition of "beauty" can be used to describe many things, I often think it is overused in description of a persons looks.
Society used to criticize people who do not fit the standards of "beauty ideal", regardless the fact that there is no such thing as universal "beauty ideal" - the beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Being a beauty pageant should show young girls that "beauty" is not only about looks, it's about personality too. It's not enough to have a pretty face; your talents, your charisma and intelligence - this is what should complete the image of being truly beautiful.

What do you feel it means to be a role model? How do you live your life being a role model?
Role models have one main purpose - to represent something. Beauty pageants must represent their countries, their culture and set a perfect example of what beauty means in their society.
Being a role model isn't very easy, you must act and talk exemplary. That means you are quite constrained - you must watch your words and actions very carefully, one mistake could cost you much. But there's a good side to it, after seeing many happy people who want to take an example from you and become a better person, you realize that it was worth all the effort.

What is the most important moral issue that you are presented with on a daily basis, and where do you stand on this issue? How do you support your beliefs with action?
One of the most important moral issues that I've encountered in my life was disrespect. Disrespect for people who seem to be somehow different than the disrespecting person is - racism, homophobia, religion, financial situation, even a different clothing style seem to be a reason to dislike someone. It's a shame that there are still a lot of people in the world who think that they are somehow better than others and deserve a special treatment. We all live on the same planet, we all are made from the same flesh and blood, we all deserve the same equal respect for us. Equality and respect are a few of the examples that I wanted to show to the others, and being a beauty pageant creates a perfect opportunity to show it in action.

Hello everyone! Checking in to see how everything is going. Our due date is today but I'm going to close it at the very end of the 3rd to give everyone some time to get their entries in, especially since I just got back from no internet access for the past few days. So you have about 24 hours to submit an entry if you have not done so already.

I know that there has been a split between who wants to continue and who wants to end after this round but I believe it is best to end here. So, after tomorrow, the judges will go through and score what we have. Hopefully, we will be able to announce a winner by the weekend! If you have not submitted a round 2 before then, it will not be counted in the scoring process. If you are planning to do a round 2 please let me know ASAP! I still have not heard from a few of you, and if I don't, I will count you as withdrawn from the contest.

Also, it seems as almost everyone that has done Round 3 has also done the second bonus so we will go ahead and count those in the scores.

Sounds good heaven! I enjoyed seeing what everyone came up with, some very creative people up in here. Elexis you need to teach me your picture skillz! Good luck everyone.

Elexis: I love that ballgown!! I have it too, I think...

Yes, it is lovely, too bad I can't remember where I got it from...

Elexis you need to teach me your picture skillz! Good luck everyone.
Lol, good CC and awesome graphics card does 90% of the job for good pictures
The other 10 are the lighting, the scene and some other tweaks :heyhey:

I am so sorry for the delay everyone! I won't make excuses but know that I have ALL the scores including the winners. Scores have been rounded to the nearest half point. So without further ado...

Round 2 Scores

Cheesie: 20
The pictures were great overall and the simplicity behind Alex is refreshing – especially in her headshot. Your time period shot, I thought, was the best and your background history of the clothing – as well as what you could accomplish with CC – was spot on. Well done.
I found your period photo to be very well done, and one of my favourite photos of the competition so far. I love the hair and outfit you chose and I found your explanations of each photo well done. Your answer to the question was very well done, but I wish you’d gone into more depth.

EasyPeaze: 20.5
The headshot is gorgeous and your setup of the period shot is fantastic. You really showed off Kimber’s beauty while also representing Scotland. However, points were docked for only partially answering the last question. A great job overall.
Seriously, I love your model. She’s gorgeous and I love the colour and themes in your photos. However your question was lacking in... everything. We know economics are in trouble (Everyone’s affected by it). But how does the current economic state hurt Scotland in particular?

Elexis: 22.5
As usual, your pictures are stunning and your setup is exceptional. The descriptions of each picture and the background history behind each is also extremely well done; so kudos. You only answered the second half of the last question, but you did a fantastic job answering that portion. Lovely, lovely submission Elexis.
So I think its fair to warn you that your photos and I are having a love affair together. They’re spectacular. Eye candy in every sense of the world and just so amazingly clear and well put together. I absolutely ADORED your modern style photo, perhaps my favourite of this round. It combined modern style clothing with a twist to make it special to Russia in particular, which is exactly what I was looking for.

LovelyDia101: 17.5
Your first and last pictures are great and really show off Jessica’s beauty/country. For your time period shot, are you trying to portray Australia’s beginning what with the British sending surplus convicts to their British colonies in that area? It certainly does depict the helplessness that most must have felt – particularly when they started sending women over there to even out the population. I’m rambling; anyway, great submission lovely. Jessica looks gorgeous.
I really liked your first picture, I found her outfit to be very nice and your explanation of it was one of my favourites so far. I also really liked your answer to the question, It was well thought out and mentioned a problem that I’d never heard of in reference to Australia.

SandyMDH: 19
Well, Sandy you managed to make Cecile look even more stunning this round. Your time period shot was especially gorgeous and well setup and showed off both the country and your model exceptionally. The 20’s was a great choice. Thumbs up.
I found your entire entry to be very well done, but your answer in particular really shined, especially in comparison to the other contestants. You went into a lot of depth and covered more than just one point.

Round 3 Scores

Cheesie: 21.5
You did a wonderful job, Cheesie. Both of your pictures are gorgeous, but it was how you answered the questions that made this entry special; particularly the first and last question. You not only made Alex a stunner, but also made her multifaceted and interesting. I think this is my favorite entry of yours. Kudos.
Your pictures were basic, and I really enjoyed your written answers. Your answer to “Moral Issues” in particular was very well done. You brought up a lot of good points including both sides of the idea of what integrity is (Public vs. Private).

EasyPeaze: 18
As usual, your pictures are fantastic and Kimber looks as gorgeous as ever. However, the questions weren’t really answered fully and didn’t elaborate much. It is still a great entry though and I have to say that Kimber’s gown is exceptionally lovely.
I want that formal dress. Yes, anyway, your written answers were very basic and didn’t dig into anything too deep. Your moral issues answer was the best as you did talk about the issue, how its ignored, and how it needs a harsher punishment.

Elexis: 22
Yesenia looks absolutely beautiful in her pictures and the questions were clearly well thought out and answered fully. I especially liked how you tackled question three. You did a fantastic job fleshing out Yesenia and elaborating what it is that she, and I assume by extension you, feel are important. Love it.
Beautiful photos, and your written answers were spectacular. Your definition and explanation of beauty was my favourite, especially how you took the word and explained how it describes everything around us, not just physical appearance. LOVED your charity advertisement for breast cancer.

LovelyDia101: 16.5
The bathing suit shot of Jessica is beautiful and for some reason is one of my favorites of her. I adore your answer to question three as that really is an issue in today’s world and I thought it gave Jessica a certain charm to tackle that issue specifically. Thumbs up.
In the rules it says we’re not supposed to dock marks for grammar and spelling so I left your points alone, but I do wish you’d spent some more time with editing. Some sentences just seemed confused, incorrect or had missing words. That said, your photos were well done and I enjoyed the poses you used, they looked very natural.

SandyMDH: 19
Cecile’s ball gown shot is beautiful and I love her pose! Your answer to questions two and three stood out the most, I thought, and gave Cecile some extra depth. Thumbs up yet again, Sandy.
I absolutely love the poses, hair and outfits you picked for your model this round. Really brought you to a new level and I was so impressed by your written answers. Your definition of beauty in particular was close to perfect (in my eyes).
