Updated: 4th Apr 2013 at 4:57 AM - New version released: bug fix and University Life support

Entrepreneurship - the American dream. It's not an easy path, for people or for Sims. Can your Sim become the next Nick Alto or Nancy Landgraab?

This is a hard career!!! I created it to be a challenge for skilled players. You have been warned.

UPDATE NOTES
Version 1.1
  • University Life is now supported!
  • Fixed the Logic metric for promotion from level 2 to level 3. Version 1.0 had it erroneously set to 3-5; it is now the 2-5 that was originally intended.

GENERAL INFORMATION
To access the Entrepreneurship career, go to the Business Office and choose to "Start a Business."

There are no opportunities for the Entrepreneurship career.

This career mod does not overwrite any EA/Maxis careers.

COMPATIBILITY
This career mod requires the latest version of NRaas' Careers mod. I have personally tested the current version of the career with patch 1.50 on the base game and University Life; it should work on, and I support, any configuration officially supported by the latest version of Careers.

This career mod is available in English only.

Entrepreneurship - the American dream. It's not an easy path, but for those who succeed, great wealth awaits. Can you become the next Nick Alto or Nancy Landgraab?

CAREER LEVELS
Level 1: Just an Idea
Just an idea - that's all you have right now. It's up to you to turn it into a product that people will buy. Work on your logic skills to develop your product, and remember: you don't get paid until your product sells.
Pay: None
Pension: None
Hours: 7AM-7PM (12 hours)
Days: 7 days a week
Metrics for Promotion: Mood, Logic (2-5)

Level 2: Start of a Business
You have a product, but can you sell it? Strapped for cash and with no employees, you have to put in the extra effort to get through this turbulent period with your business - and your life savings - intact. Will your product be the next MultiTab 6000 or will it be another Sloppy Jalopy? Use your logic and charisma skills to make sure it's the former.
Pay: None
Pension: None
Hours: 7AM-7PM (12 hours)
Days: 7 days a week
Metrics for Promotion: Mood, Logic (2-5), Charisma (1-3)

Level 3: One-Man Business
People are starting to buy your product. In fact, you're getting so many orders that you've outgrown your home office and need a loan to move into a new office. Although you can now afford to pay yourself a small salary, you'll have to learn the art of writing a business plan in order to get that loan.

Pension: $23/day
Hours: 7AM-7PM (12 hours)
Days: 7 days a week
Metrics for Promotion: Mood, Logic (5-7), Charisma (2-3), Writing (0-3)

Level 4: Local Business
Your business has become a fixture in your community, and has grown large enough that you can no longer fill all the orders by yourself and thus have to hire employees. You'll have to keep them motivated if you want to keep them employed. You've been featured on the local news as an example for the city's youth, and there are some teens at the local high school that aspire to be like you. In addition, R&D remains important if you wish to grow beyond this one town.
Pay: $40/hour
Pension: $61/day
Hours: 8AM-6PM (10 hours)
Days: Monday-Friday
Metrics for Promotion: Mood, Employees, Logic (5-7), Charisma (3-5)

Level 5: Regional Business
Your business now operates in a good-sized portion of SimNation and is too big to qualify for small-business discounts. While you will certainly miss the discounts, it's a good thing to see them go, as it only means that you are succeeding in your venture. In order to continue to expand, you will need to continue all the good work you have been doing - continue the R&D, continue keeping your employees motivated, and continue writing those business plans!
Pay: $76/hour
Pension: $130/day
Hours: 9AM-5PM (8 hours)
Days: Monday-Friday
Metrics for Promotion: Mood, Employees, Logic (6-8), Writing (4-8)

Level 6: National Business
All of SimNation knows about your products and everyone is buying. You're pulling in millions of Simoleons; the hardship of the startup phase was worth it! Can you take your business beyond the borders of SimNation? If the work you have been doing is any indicator, the answer is yes!
Pay: $115/hour
Pension: $197/day
Hours: 9AM-5PM (8 hours)
Days: Monday-Friday
Metrics for Promotion: Mood, Employees, Logic (7-10), Writing (7-10)

Level 7: International Business
Your business has officially gone worldwide! Your products are available everywhere from Shang Simla to Champs Les Sims. Even Barnacle Bay's shops carry your products! Although it may seem like you've gone as far as you can go, that is not the case. With some more carefully planned work, the Sim 1000 may be within reach!
Pay: $175/hour
Pension: $301/day
Hours: 9AM-5PM (8 hours)
Days: Monday-Friday
Metrics for Promotion: Mood, Employees, Charisma (6-8), Writing (7-10)

Level 8: Sim 1000 Company
Your company is now one of the 1,000 richest in the world, earning more than a hundred million Simoleons in profits every year. It seems like only yesterday that you were operating out of a home office, and here you are as a Sim 1000 CEO. Keep up that R&D to keep customers buying and profits coming in!
Pay: $300/hour
Pension: $351/day
Hours: 9AM-5PM (8 hours)
Days: Monday-Friday
Metrics for Promotion: Mood, Employees, Logic (8-10), Charisma (7-9)

Level 9: Sim 500 Company
Your company is now one of the 500 richest in the world, with profits measured not in the millions of Simoleons, but in the billions. You are one of the most-discussed people in The Sim Street Journal; it's almost impossible to open an issue and not see your name. Can you take your company to #1 on the Sim 500?
Pay: $400/hour
Pension: $460/day
Hours: 9AM-5PM (8 hours)
Days: Monday-Friday
Metrics for Promotion: Mood, Employees, Logic (8-10), Charisma (7-9)

Level 10: Megacorporation
You are at the helm of the richest company in the world - the company that you started. Your company earns tens of billions of Simoleons a year. You drive a fancy company car and fly to meetings on a company jet. It's not all luxury, though - you still have a company to run.
Pay: $500/hour
Pension: $633/day
Hours: 9AM-5PM (8 hours)
Days: Monday-Friday
Metrics for Raise: Mood, Employees, Charisma (8-10), Writing (8-10)
