Hello!
I'm Brazilian and here in my country also do a party very similar to Quinceanera. It is "15 years Dance".
There is also an entire ritual and the girl is the center of attention because she is passing phase of a child to adolescence.
At the dance are 14 girls and 14 boys who dance a waltz with dresses all equal. Each one holds a candle that aniversariante will erasing while waltz with her father, who is leading the symbolically to maturity.

I loved the dress. Very beautiful idea.

Congratulations on creativity and the memory of the event.
kisses

I'm glad you all like the dress.

PaulaJean, the site is down right now, but it should be back soon. Don't worry though, I'm sure it won't be much longer.

I loved going to Quinceanera's. I just hated how deceiving the girls were because they weren't "pure" anymore and basically lied to the family. Oh well hehe lovely dress. :p

It isn't like you said, but it's similar. It's a simulation to the old tradition of portray girls in society, allowing them to join in marriage. It's a big party (not in church, it isn't something religious). With a song, the girl enter to the party room, and everybody hugs her. Then, she dance with her dad, and after that he gives her to the rest of the man (allowing her to join in marriage). Then, a big party, similar to graduation, starts. But she's the center of attention all the time. :3 . Oh, and you do it at your birthday number 15 .. xD

Well at least it's like that on Argentina. My party was 2 month ago
sorry for my english....

PD: can I ask you for a reply of my dress? it's similar to this one, but I want mine, I don't know how to do it. Thanks...! Please, please, PM me :D
