Twelve Tempting Terrains

The following 12 terrains were began back in August, 2011. Since then, there have been many changes and additions to the game. Custom terrains, in particular, have not been cooperative in-game. So far, I have only been able to get my terrains to work with the circular brushes, and not the squares, since World Adventures came out. I apologize for this, however it's the game files that get wonky when cloned.

I recently uninstalled ALL of my games, and reinstalled only The Sims 3 base game. Therefore, these terrains should work for everybody...even if you can only use the circular brushes. The pictures provided were taken with Lunar Lakes installed.

I have also provided separate copies of the DDS files for those wanting to use them in Create-A-World (CAW).

With the arrival of Lunar Lakes, I was inspired to get these terrains up and running. You don't need Lunar Lakes, it was only the source of my most recent inspiration.

They are found in Edit Town/Build/Terrains

Without further ado, please enjoy!

Additional Credits:
I began these terrains using GIMP, and switched over to Adobe Photoshop CS5 for some wicked alterations :-)

Thanks to Spiral Graphics for providing the original free images.

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Excellent work, as always. I don't suppose you could turn these into patterns for CAST?

These are all epic terrains! Terrains 2 is my favorite--Planet Rock reminds me of the starlit night sky, and the Amethyst one is a splendid idea, cuz there aren't a lot of pink/purple non-floral terrains out there. Thanks a billion!

Love your terrains I'm starting to download stuff for the first time for sims 3

whoden is right, it's all from Lunar Lakes. But the terrains and patterns I make are all usable in any game.

Brilliant! Thank you so much! Especially for the CAW files. Started my first world today and am already sick of the 4 terrains available.

Also, I have that spiral tree (and several other "fantasy" trees,) but I don't have Lunar Lakes. O.o

I'm going back to playing my own world, but it certainly needs an update. I built it pre-Ambitions to be a sci-fi world, and Lunar Lakes is just making me go wild, I love it! THIS is what my world needs next.

They are all black for me.

I figured it out. They only show up using the round brush. No square ones.

That's right. I mentioned that issue in the overview. Every now and again this crops up, and I think it has something to do with either, or both, new patches and expansions.

Thank you!
Do you install these into the Packages folder within Mods or just in Mods? I am a noob and frankly, the mods thing is still foreign to me.
