Oh, I so agree with you. I didn't realize the chances of a positive outcome were lessened until I downloaded your last set of wells that gave healing, sickness, etc. Will this affect their chances as well (ha-ha), or just the main wishing well?

No, this patch has absolutely no effect on my "Life Changing" wells. But in general they are already configured in the same way as this patch. The only ones that differ are the nasty ones which have a much worse probability of success, and the Ambrosial Wells which are close to ideal when in the blessing mode.

Hello. Would it be possible to create a well that uses playable sims only because when my Sims wish for friends or lovers they just get townies or downtownies. I don't play with non-playable sims and the visitor controller doesn't stop townies (non-playables) from coming on the lot when wished for. I have every expansion up to Seasons.

Yes, I've just checked out the Wishing Well semi-globals and it would be entirely possible for the well to only produce playable Sims. This would be quite a different patch, and it would also affect my "Life Changing" wells. I've put it in my queue, but I can't promise when I will get to it.

After further investigation, I discovered that the Wish for Romance routine uses the "Social - Find Match" controller that is probably also used by the Gypsy matchmaking service. Personally I like the way matchmaking works as it is - that it attempts to find the best match according to chemistry, whether or not the match is a playable Sim. I really don't have an interest in changing this, so I must apologize snaveskins and confess that I will not be taking this on.
Not actually evil.

No stealing and walking off with my well! It's 50 feet deep! How the heck are you fitting it in your stolen goods bag??? Thanks much for this sane mod.

That's ok but I'm curious. how does finding friends work in the game? I've made wish for friends and my sims would get the same set of non-playable friends who are townies on different lots. When you wish for friends they are automatically best friends with 3 people I noticed so I do like that.

Finding friends uses a "GetXUnknownNeighbors" LuaScript to select the three neighbours. I don't know if there is any way to determine what is in the script. After the script obtains references to the neighbours then standard BHAV coding raises the current and lifetime relationship scores between the active Sim and each of the visiting Sims.

I don't suppose the Operate independent of each other tweak could be applied to some of the Rewards? I hate it when I have a large family and the Smart Milk gets used up and even though I bring out the other parent's one that's empty too.

Oh really? I didn't realize that was the case. I'll look into it.

Since I rarely used the wishes on my wells, I hadn't realized there was an issue with getting successful wishes. This is a very nice patch to have, and I like the fact that you've disconnected the wells from each other. I would never have thought to make something like this, but as it seems to be a very useful game change, I am definitely downloading it.

The neat thing with the Wishing Wells is that unlike the Aspiration Rewards, it doesn't matter what mood the Sim is in. I hope you enjoy the patch, Amber.

I just love the screenshot of Ajay getting beaten by Mrs. Crumplebottom, I don't know why. Anyway, ty for this great mod and imparting knowledge about the well in the comments! I always seem to get townies for friends, though.

Awesome news, although wow... hearing that the limit on successful wishes is only 10 is kind of a bummer. I guess that's when it's time to chuck the old well out and "construct" (buy) a new one! Haha! Thank you for the sensible fixes.
