Oh thank you so much for these! I am addicted to your open-underneath and recolorable stairs, they are so much more versatile and builder-friendly! You make the Best Stuff!

I love these stairs, thank you. One problemo... I had them on a lot for 6 or so sim days then deleted them to remodel and they got 140,000 simoleons for them! That's not a typo. I mean, at least now they're rich. I've noticed this on all the lots I've placed these stairs.

Update: The regular non-open underneath shinto stairs that are required for these stairs also do this.

I love the stairs but not the railings, could you do some more stairs, like white with white railings? Please

I am using sims2 Deluxe, do you know where I would put the script file for the stairs? I also have all but 2 of the expansion packs, can you help me?

HugeLunatic, I have found a problem with these stairs, and I hope it is a simple fix!
In a new house, these stairs cause an enormous, permanent spike in lot value, at midnight on the first night. Must be per step, because a shorter flight of stairs made less value change. My stairs are on a stage landing, in case that is a factor.
Really fast way to give the inhabitants a fortune, but probably not intended.
Let me know if you need more information.

Was this ever fixed?

Speaking of fixing, I think the description for this listing really needs to be re-written, for the following reasons:

1- Nowhere is the actual name of these Maxis stairs given. They are the 'Step Into A World' stairs.
2- There are numerous references to 'Shinto' stairs, which apparently existed at one time but no longer do. (There are no 'Shinto' Maxis stairs and there are no such stairs with that name in HL's collection.)
3- The description says that the mesh for the aforementioned, non-existent 'Shinto' stairs is needed.
4- There is a dead link to the mesh of the non-existent 'Shinto' stairs.
5- It says the stairs are recolorable, which they don't seem to be (unless I just don't know how to do it).

In short, these simply appear to be the Maxis 'Step Into A World' stairs made open underneath, which is great, but I think the description should reflect this and all of the other contradictory and confusing references should be deleted.
Me? Sarcastic? Never.

No, the price issue was not fixed as I totally missed the error report. I think it is now fixed?

The catalog name and the internal file name are typically two different things, and most of the time I use the internal file names. Both names are correct. If you have hover over the stairs in game, you will see the pop there show the internal file name. There are two links to the recolorable Maxis version is in the description and they both work.

To recolor stairs, you must use the Design Tool on each individual stair tread. You will not see recolors in the catalog the way you do with other objects.

Okay, I just ran this through 2 midnights on one of my test lots and I did not see an increase in the household funds.
Fixed?

It was only after the test that I realized I'd forgotten to put railings on the stairs, so hopefully that doesn't make a diff.
