SCREENSHOTS
Hi everyone!
I finally got to finish this project - I made the most fantastic hair retexture I had ever done .... Then my computer formatted and I lost ALL my projects, including my 15 retextured yet-to-upload hairstyles, that I was going to upload as one big mega surprise set... Well, I spoiled it right there for you
Anyway, I decided to grab Helgasims' 2007 Mesh and removed basically everything that didn't match the maxis-match games; Tiny hairs, photoskinned textures and weird lenght differences. I used EA textures and alphas in order to make it look like something that could come from The Sims 2 Store.
The hair is very easy and simple, which I really like. It works with all sims and every outfit, so there will be no clipping issues with outfits or wide faces.
The retextures come in 4 basic colors and are all binned within the right group - I decided not to add any more tip-dye variations as requested, since I figured it didn't really work with this hairstyle - In my opinion this hairstyle is rather for plain and maybe a bit oldfashioned sims. (I was going to say moms, but todays' moms are very fashionable!)
The hair textures are sleek and soft, which make the hair look very sweet and easy. In my game, I usually give my sweet and innocent sims this hairstyle - It's got not much of that hollywood glam to it, it's very casual and simple. This hair is not actually bouncy, I just liked the name for it, it's just animated in a normal way.
Known issues with this mesh
The hairstyle works for all ages, except for toddler. So not exactly for all ages. oh well. The hairstyle does work and show up for Teen and child, but it does have some issues!
----- TF: The Teen Female hair mesh has some serious clipping issues with the scalp, which is a mesh and not a retexture problem. The scalp (black pieces) are clipping right through the hair, because the hair mesh wasn't converted well to this age.
---- CF: In my opinion, the child hair got some issues too, because the back of the head is HUGE!!! That's why I personally don't use it for kids, because.. well, how does the hair even float on their heads like that??!
---- AF: As you could have seen in the pictures, the adult female hair has some tiny clipping issues with the hair locks on the side - Nothing truely noticable, but I figured I'd still mention it in case you would want to know.
That's it - The hair mesh poly is 3889 in case you were wondering. The mesh is included in the zip file, since Helga's website is long gone
Enjoy and happy simming!
