Red!! I love the Shotgun house. The kitchen reminds me of my great grandmother's. She had a wood stove and the old style cold box and wood stacked in the kitchen. She never updated her home to more modern things before she passed. A few years back Quezz posted a few shotgun style homes and I still have the files. This will be fun to play. Thanks for this Creole style.

Great shot-gun style That style is also predominant all over Florida - a lot of Florida crackers built in that style... I've got a few of them in my "To be uploaded" files. Maybe I'll move them to the front of the line? Great job, and beautifully furnished

I just wonder if people realize that the term "shotgun" house refers to the fact that it's a "straight shot" from the front door to the back door with one or more rooms in-between. Privacy can't be an issue since the bedroom(s) are just part of the walk-way...

Well, with the Florida houses anyway, there was usually a central hallway...
"...Both were built in classic “shotgun” style where all the rooms are in direct line with each other with a hallway straight through the center of the house. They’re called shotgun because you could shoot straight through the front door clear to the back of the house without hitting the walls."

That said - I love how you did yours - I've seen them that way before too (just usually not as fancy!)
The only time I was in New Orleans I was 6 years old - and not interested in anything but Nancy Drew and arriving at Disney World LOL!
