Yes, my new computer is brilliant!!! It's so fast and smooth, even with the graphics set to maximum! All the hassle was worth it in the end.

Also, the trainset is up, and I'm having an absolute ball with Wes' animation plugins. I made three full sim animations in under a day, it's so fast and user friendly now! :D

So since everything is going well, everyone may have a large, unspecified, dark coloured beverage.

Well last weekend my desktop computer started shutting down spontaneously, so I loaded up a temperature monitor and yes, it was overheating something shocking. So I took it in to get a quote on a repair, where I was told that apparently a capacitor on the motherboard has gone. Thus I am operating with only my laptop at the moment, which doesn't have anything later than OFB installed. That's quite irritating.

The good news though, is that I now have a darned good excuse to buy myself a shiny new desktop, with really fancy new graphics card, more RAM and a nice FAST processor! It's ordered and I'll be getting it in a few days, so expect gushing from me around then.

A tutorial writing weekend. There, I've committed myself to it now, and if I don't at least do some tutorial writing then you may all beat me about the head with sticks. I have a whole lot of things I really need to write tutorials for, and I haven't managed to finish (or in some cases, start) any of them for a really long time.

The good news is that if you're one of the people to whom I have promised a tutorial, your chances of getting it are slightly improved. The bad news is that if you are one of the people who have asked for help with some other project, or just a downloader waiting for new content, you'll have to wait a little longer.

Thanks for all the kind words and thoughts everyone. Fortunately I am feeling much better now! So much so that I can't justify lazing about the house any more, so I'll be starting my new job on Tuesday. If you happen to work in a Melbourne office and notice a new girl wandering around looking lost next week please take pity on her, just in case it's me.

Just letting everyone know that my complete lack of response to any posts, pms etc over the last week and a half was neither laziness nor rudeness. I was feeling a bit unwell the Monday night before last, and on Tuesday night I got rushed to hospital for an emergency appendectomy. Even so it was too late, as the nasty little thing had already popped and caused quite widespread peritonitis. I didn't get out of hospital until the following Monday night (a few days ago) and was still feeling too rotten for the last few days to actually be able to sit at a computer and type. This is the first opportunity I've had to respond to anyone at all.

I'll be taking things really easy for the next week and a half while the discomfort subsides, so please be patient with me if I cannot respond to you messages straight away. I'll be doing my best!

I'm still looking for beta testers - If you've got about 2 hours to spare some time in the next three to four days, have all the EPs installed (Stuff packs optional), and you know how to create an error log, let me know ASAP so I can send you the details.

Hi all,

My current project of about 9 months is now reaching the point where I track down the last few bugs before release, so I'd be interested in hearing from a few people (no more than 5 or 6) interested in playing at tester. The objects have been designed to work with all the EPs up to OfB installed. If you do not have all of these objects you're still welcome to volunteer, just know that some of the objects are more likely to break. The items are not yet ready for public release (which is why they're up for testing), so if you do get to play with them I would ask that you not share it around generally.

These are still genuinely testing downloads. There are still a few known defects I'm working on fixing, and so I wouldn't recommend playing these with your favorite sims. I'd also prefer if the testers were happy to play with testing cheats enabled, and be comfortable with creating error logs so if something breaks in your game I can track down the cause.

If you're interested and able to help me out, please either post here or send me a PM.

Due to the fact that I'm an Aussie, I won't get a copy of pets until over a week after the US. Consequently, I cannot confirm 100% that my items/hacks will work as intended until then. Most of my creations are reasonably low risk, as their code is all local and self contained. Only the "sleep on community lots" hack overrides global behaviours, so that is the only mid to high risk file.

If you do have the pets EP and any of my objects, then I would appreciate a note to say if any of the hacked objects show any sign of misbehaving either here or in the relevant download thread. Thanks, and enjoy the extra week of gaming you all get!
