Awhile back, I made a Starfleet career (from the Star Trek television show) for The Sims 1. Each level included a chance card, and those chance cards were important, not just for flavor -- though I think they DO add a lot of flavor -- but also because they helped the player to gain some of the vast quantity of skills that a person needs to be a Starfleet officer.

When I downloaded and played the career recently, I discovered that the chance cards for the Starfleet career had all been overwritten by those from the Criminal career. Oh no!!! I've put the Starfleet chance cards back in, but since I don't know why they disappeared in the first place, I don't know if players who download my career will get the right chance cards.

Could you play the career until you've gotten a chance card or two? Then let me know if you've gotten the right ones? I set the chance of getting a chance card to be high, so you should be able to get them fairly easily.

I just had my burglar try your Starfleet career. Unfortunately, I can't say much about the chance cards since I play the german version. I noticed that I gained skill points but in conjunction with some weird information that my sim had chosen another career path (which normally appears at the end of a career ladder only). However, this did not affect the starfleet career path and I had no problems playing through it apart from this.

Hopefully someone else can help you more. Imo the starfleet career is very cool!

Ah, yes, mein Deutsch ist sehr schlect, so I only altered the English version, which means you'd get whatever the chance card was for the career Starfleet replaced when you play in another language. Thanks for trying, though; I appreciate that!

That would be fabulous, thanks! The career requires all seven expansion packs or The Complete Collection, and I'm afraid it's only in English. But if you have 'em all and play in English, that would be wonderful!

I do! Full context, in case it helps: I have all of the TS1 game discs and play in English on a Windows 7 PC, using the patch from Beyond Sims.

A chance card appeared on the very first day, and it does indeed match your custom text. Stella Starfleet may not have enjoyed the long hike after the shuttlecraft broke down, but it sure helped her advance toward a promotion. :D

Even though I've never actually seen Star Trek, I'm going to keep this career around. It's clear a lot of time and love went into creating it, and I'm already pretty attached to my Starfleet officer! I've been enjoying some of your other CC in my personal TS1 renaissance, too, so thank you for sharing your work with the community.
