LOL.
Although I thought that we were referring to friends brought home from work or school, not friends that have been invited.

@ChisanaAoi - How deeply nested are your download subfolders? I've read somewhere that the game has a 255-character limit on the file paths.

Like game if you can please actually load all the cc and not just pick and choose that would be great, especially since I hardly ever have the patience to wait for the game to reload and usually just end up deciding not to play for the day |
For me it was Sim Manipulator what selected randomly mods to not work. Every time different mods.
Now I keep Sim Manipulator at desktop and use it in game when really needed.

The link leads to a Permission Denied page, though, and I can't find any mention of the mod anywhere else on the internet. |
Pescado's old "bringrealfriends" mod appears to have had this function. There's a discussion of it here:
http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/s...ic,11817.0.html
Apparently it was discontinued and its functions moved into "nofraternization". I pulled "nofraternization" out of my own game because since it was also restricting my sims to only bringing home work friends of their own rank/level, they never brought anybody home from work.

Oh Sims why are you so insistent on annoying me to the point where I can't play? .-. Finally got the two mods that I noticed weren't working to work. Had to re-download and replace the old file. Now I'm wondering how much else is missing that I'm not going to notice until I need it *sigh* I can't go re-downloading everything, I have no WiFi and it would take forever to download everything on my phone and transfer .-. Welp hopefully nothing too important is missing. I swear this game just enjoys making me have to constantly exit out of it and wait for it to restart :/

I thought RoxEllen might have found the cause for my game, as I certainly remembered the nofraternization mod. Except I don't currently have that one in. So it remains a mystery for me.

Is one of the reasons I'm not overly fond of Pescado's hacks. Combining multiple features into one big hack.

I could swear that I also have that behavior that makes them to bring friends home from work instead of strangers, but the dialog mods to allow or not allow are the only ones I can find in my downloads folder.

Mine don't always bring home strangers, sometimes they bring home one friend, again, and again, and again. Eventually, I'll just have that friend move in with them since he likes them so much.

Yep, I thought I had empty templates, but it turns out it must've been so long since I last installed them, that I forgot where they went. I'd replaced the My Documents Pleasantview, not the UserData one. Oops! Anyway, I hadn't done much to my hood, and of course I could just copy the lots across, nobody had moved in yet. I even spawned more interesting trees in the second iteration.

Is this a work friend or a hobby friend? There is a known bug in Free Time that makes it keep bringing the same hobby friend home over and over again. TwoJeffs made a fix for it.

Hal Capp gets A - report card. Relatives are proud and send him money.
Few seconds later Desdemona Capp gets A - report card. Nothing.

It always seems to be someone from work. Most of the time they bring home people who aren't friends so they can get to know them better, but now and again, they'll bring the same buddy home.

If it's a "now and again" thing and they do sometimes bring other people home, it's probably just a coincidence. There was a discussion in another thread about how the random number generator in this game isn't nearly random enough. If it was the FT bug, you'd know it because your sim would only bring that same person home every day for the rest of his/her life.

I would've liked it if playables in a university setting sometimes autonomously would do an assignment, like townie dormies do.

What makes you go Grrrr?
That Sims don't think about waiting. They don't waite for a few minutes until the route is free, but just complain and forget everything.
That Sims put their homework around the front door. Sometimes a Sim decides to make homework right in front of the door, so no one can enter anymore (and they don't think about stepping over the homework Sim). (Although that could be the way I build that house, since in other houses that never was a problem. Anyway, it's a Grrr.)

I'm glad they don't. What if I WANT a student to fail?

Then you cancel the action, I would say.
For my type of play it would have fitted more if they could make that effort of choosing for the assignment, but since they don't do it autonomously anyway this is a moot point.

My self-Sim's story is that she somehow ended up in Oakbrook with no actual memories of who she is. That was slightly ruined by relatives sending her money for good grades.

It just adds to the mystery, though, doesn't it? Why are these strangers always sending her money, and who are they? The fact that there is no return address on the envelope and it seems to be postmarked in different places (from their travels of course) just raises the intrigue. Her new friends keep telling her to just enjoy the money; she will find out eventually, but don't worry so much she neglects her studies. But that somehow just makes it worse. It becomes a bit of an obsession with her.
Whoops, was playing your game for a minute, there. Let me just rearrange things back the way you had them.

Whilst we are on the subject, I love, love, love so many of these careers. I just wish there were a way to edit LTW so that one of these jobs would satisfy the want.

You could pick a similar one and then just manually toggle it when they reach the top.

Does that require Sim pe? Because that program frightens me more than violence or sudden death.
