Or plants or foods... I've seen people ask the folks who went to the hands-on event if there's any new stuff like that, and they said no... but then, it's unlikely they were looking for it.

Still, we do get "junk", and spirits two whole new TYPES of collectible. So I won't be too sad regardless

Edit: Wow, tunnels :O Most interesting thing in that Sims3Cri article, lol.

Edit again: Here's a brief snatch of Grant Rodiek interview, among some old news: http://www.simprograms.com/gameon-c...mbitions-video/

oh yesss that means we can use cheats to get it!!

"Finally, you can adjust the opacity of your Sim's makeup, so you don't need to fiddle with colours for hours to get a subtle "barely there" shade of lipstick"

now this i am excited about. it never really occurred to me to have them do something like this but i'm glad they did. sometimes i'd just like a pale sheer blue instead of 80s paste blue =P

Second part of Sims3Cri article: http://www.sims3cri.com/en/game-inf...k-parte-ii.html

Very little new there, unfortunately, but I really liked the thing about new categories in the walls tab of build mode.

I'm so excited about this new EP! I just hope it doesn't bring about a tonne of bugs as it's becoming usual with EA these days
I think my favourite careers are going to be Inventor, Private Investigator and Ghostbuster...

To be honest, with 8 days left before release, I seriously doubt any more official information will be coming out until after release.

But, I could be wrong.

Bad link.

Was that the original preview vid? Or is it something new?

Edit: Here's an amusing tidbit from one of the Dutch event attendees -- apparently you can be fined for blowing up public property
"Then we come to the inventor, I did not play with this much myself, but my neighbour at the preview did. He got his sim to such a high level he could blow things up to get some scrap. This blowing up of things is not a small thing, blowing up car is BOOM! This neighbour was a guy (cheetah) who thought blowing things up was so much fun, he went around the neighbourhood and destroyed everyone’s car!! He got caught once and was asked to leave for misbehaving... just a minor behaviour problem. Then moved onto a community lot and started blowing up tables, at least he got some punishment for this, a fine. His sim did not even get in touch with law enforcement."

And this is a VERY useful invention I hadn't heard of (Google translation, sorry!):

"Her next successful invention, the harvester, which they harvest from all plants at once can 'suck'."

Anything that makes gardening faster is a big plus in my book!

I'm going to have to get one of my sims that harvester. Shes got a small garden now, but by the time she gets out there at about 9am and is finished harvesting and caring for the garden, its near 2pm, and I've got about a hundred seeds shes collected, and I'd like to plant some of them, but can't with how long it takes to care for the garden now and the baby.

"But Olga told us that the evil doctor can infect all the people some disease or pour into the sewer viruses." (source)

That sounds cool. So far it looks like none of the previewers looked at the consignment store thoroughly, and the extended medical careers seems almost non-existent. :/

"In the "curtain" appeared under the awnings window size of one square 1x1 (Note: if you remember the second simah, such as shelters were under construction and can stretch to several cells)."

I hope that machine-translation is trying to tell me that the awnings are modular.

Well, there never did seem much to the extended medical career. House calls, help people who need it in the community, and giving out vaccines and diseases seemed to be the extent of it all.

Oh good, so you CAN infect the whole city And modular awnings would be awesome :O

On the consignment store, there was a shred:

"The Consignment Store allows your inventor/sculptor/painter to sell their goods, they give it to the store and when another sim buys it, your sim gets money. It’s not an automatic sell, which I personally found cute. It’s a small detail that EA did keep in mind."
(from the sww blog at TSR, linked above)

That strongly suggests that townie sims DO autonomously buy stuff from the store, which was what we've been hoping

Man. I'm hyped. But I'm still not pre-ordering. I *assume* I'll acquire it after it's released, but you're still all my guinea pigs. I won't be bitten thrice.

I really like that the sales aren't immediate. I have never, in the 10 years the game has been around, liked that paintings were sold into nowhere.

Well, I do really like the animation (where they lift it, toss it upwards, and get showered in cash symbols), but the concept always annoyed me. I love the idea of having to leave home, drop it off, and wait.

I just had a thought about the music for this game. Since Twinbrook is supposed to be like a "backwoods suburb of Louisiana" (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy...es%3Btitle%3B1), do you think EA might pop in a tune or two from Sims 1 Unleashed, like they did with the Makin' Magic tune they put into Champs Les Sims?

I would be very excited if they did that

I'll just put this here: "The Sims Old Town Music 4" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaI0...feature=related

Hm... Twinbrook don't look like Old Town at all.. It's kinda a mix from the hood from Makin' Magic (the swamp thing) and Downtown.

No it did not, not any more that World Adventures "disabled" custom content.

People are just idiots and are unable to follow instructions and them complain about how things no longer work without even going to look WHY it does not work anymore.

Yes you can own it. It gives 61,500 a week at tier 3 upgrade. it is 27,000 the base price. You can also own beaches, parks, pools, graveayards, and libary and art museum. The guide does not list who the new familes are the guide was made smaller and has less info.
